Many thanks Willie & Hi from the UK, the timing for this video is perfect as a UDM-Pro arrives tomorrow to replace my USG-3P, my controller is currently hosted on a Google VM & my weekly backups drop into a bucket, I was already wondering how backing-up would work going forward once my UDM-Pro is running, great content as always 👍

Thank you Willie. One question. In the new OS, it seems than you can not restore on a different h/w, eg udm to udmse. In order to upgrade, how could we do ?

I can't find a recent video on doing the complete restore. So if I change some settings that mess up my systems, do we have to do a factory reset, or can we just do a restore?

Great video as always Willie! Any idea why I am not seeing the backup option you show at 1:29 on my UDM SE running 3.0.13? I can upgrade, but it's running an office and I'm not on site in case of any issues.

Thank you. Can I migrate the file instead of taking a backup and import it whatever I need on the same Unifi controller? What is the difference between them?

I had a sytation where backup not help me at all on my UDR becouse on backup live a corupted settings and backups for older verion of unifi os was no longer show on recovery menu. When I tray czange settings on network I get error abot problems with savig settings. Backup not fix it and I mast reconfigure Mmy UDR from start. I think that was becouse I install a RC version of Unifi OS before and probably that broke network db on UDR

Last year I gave up on waiting for Ubiquiti to upgrade the UDM Pro and installed a UDM SE. Since I was going from an older version I had to back up the applications separately from the console. With versions >2.0, does the console backup include all of the applications’ data or should the backup include individual applications AND the console?

don't forget about backifi, it's a 3rd party service that you can have automate offsite backups of the unifi setup

A like Backifi a lot, it works very well. However, I have not been able to get hold of the support team for over a year now. I lost access to the admin console and I cannot do any changes now.
