Agree 100%, I bought the v3x over the phase 4 because of the same concerns. I feel that more complexity and more parts just introduces more opportunity for failure, I also prefer to use the mathews accessories but there was no way I was going to spend all that money on bridgelock stabilizers. I got a great deal on the v3x and I'm very happy with it. Great review as always.

Yeah I agree that the bridge lock stabilizers are way over priced. There not much better at all than something half it’s price

lol, I hear you on the fan boy's out there. With that said though I did go with the Phase 4 33 this year from a Ventum Pro. I went in for broadheads not even thinking about a new bow but after about 20 arrows through the demo I went ahead and ordered one. Turns out that I love shooting it more than any other bow ive ever had. What you said about the P4 didn't rub me the wrong way whatsoever. But then again if it had, then that would say more about me then it would you. Great advise you gave to the new bow buyer's out there and great work as usual.

My dealer offered the Phase 4 33 for only $50 more than the V3X33. To me that was a no brainer. And the sound level drop is noticeable IMHO. Good review.

That should tell you about a business if they can’t find the time to answer a question when they have employees there that is their job. There model is pick some celebrities to promote it and some glossy pages in a magazine. Guess who pays for all these bows the celebrities get for free. Must be a lot of free bows given if their first answer to people is not taking any people to sponsor. So glad I went with Athens and the customer support they give and it’s amazing who answers the phone and emails. I also love the channel as you buy or borrow the bows and are honest on the product without blinded by the sponsor.

Yeah when I got my v3x 33 I got it for $900 brand new from my bow shop when the phase 4 were $1200 in there. It was a no brained for me so I went with the v3x and I love it! Love the review as always!

I got the V3X 33 over the phase 4 for one simple reason, that rubber in between the limbs is going to be a problem down the road. there is a saying in engineering that simplicity is reliability and having 8 limbs is NOT simple... they both shot identical to each other as fare as i could tell too.

Another great real review. it's awesome how you give honest opinions on all the bows regardless of company. Love the channel and keep up the good work!

Right there with you! Bought a barely used V3X 33 all accessorized for a fraction of the price. Love the way it feel, love Mathews quiver and will not pay 750$ for Bridge lok stabs😅

If you’ve never shot a pig, especially a 180#+ boar, do not aim for the shoulder. There’s a shield of thick hard tissue. Sometimes thicker than 1 1 1/2”. You can not stab a hunting knife through it. Most arrows will not even pass thru it. Aim right behind the elbow and low on the body. Approximately 3” above his breast area. A slight quartering away is best. A frontal hit, even if the head is turned to the side leaving an open area, is a very poor option if you want to recover the animal. A lung hit will nearly always kill them but it may be 50 yards or easily more before he drops. A mechanical head is a very poor broadhead option as these hogs have thick resilient hide and usually there’s caked on dried mud etc for that flimsy head to penetrate. A sharp two blade on a heavy ( 450 grain +) arrow is a better option. Shots are normally unusually close like 20 yards or so. It does NOT require a 70# bow as many believe. I’ve killed many at 55#’s, 28” draw and456 grain arrow with Magnus Black Hornets serrated head. But you have to make a great kill shot also. Keep your hits forward on the body as a gut hit pig will run forever.

Depends on the broadhead, helix single bevels pierce shields exceptionally well

Just bought this bow on Friday and I absolutely love it. The 75lb mods are buttery smooth. While I admit the Phase 4 is extremely nice, I’m glad I went with the V3X 33

Amen! Not a fan of the phase 4 rubber limb separation as its a problem waiting to happen. I shoot a lot and don't need the rubber between the limbs failing just like the zebra strings blowing out after 400-500shots. I would also buy the v3x 10/10 times over the phase 4 but would buy the omnia all day over either.

Hey man, dont know if you'll see this but ive got a chance to upgrade to either an ss34 or a v3x 33. Im coming from the budget amplify and want a more stable, accurate platform that isnt loud as hell or buzzy on release. Speed isnt super important but is still a factor. Which would you go for? I mostly target shoot

Yes it is the perfect bow. I got mine for most of the same reasons. Integrated stabilizers omg 2 plus the back bar bracket 700-750 plus. No thanks when the v3x is a shooter. 75lb mods too make it zip.

I can guarantee you Mathews will offer replacements for those limb dampeners on the Phase 4 if they failed, or you could replace for minimal cost, and I did hear they tested that rubber dampener for several years. With that said, I own the V3X33 and I don't see anything about the Phase 4 that makes it worth an upgrade because I won't be buying their expensive bridgelock stabilizers, especially owning existing stabilizers that work perfectly fine
@scottpomygalski6078
@scottpomygalski6078 Год назад
I don't understand all the stabilization needs when the bow companies supposedly make bows that have no "vibration" and want it to be steady and straight in the hand. When we all go in a treestand, we arch our hips to aim down and do not want the bow to level out. My friend's bow had front and back bars, when he let me shoot it, my arm got tired in around three shots because of the weight which made my arm shake- can't win.

I can’t understand why so many people are worried about the rubber breaking down on the Phase 4 limbs. Sure, if rubber is left out in the elements for months nonstop, I’d imagine it would break down. Then again, just about anything degrades over time if the sun gets an opportunity to do it’s thing. I’ve also heard that Mathew’s field tested this concept for many years prior to releasing it. I can’t think of a time Mathew’s has released a new innovation that was a total failure. They didn’t become as big and successful as they are by releasing poor quality. I remember in your Phase 4 review, you mentioned that you think this will “phase” out in a couple years. I’d argue that it’s here to stay. In fact, their new target bow, The Title, has the resistance phase technology in its new limbs. They also have a new integrated stabilizer that’ll be around 30ish inches. Lastly, I can’t understand why people think rubber is so fragile. Ever seen what the suspension is made of for tractor/trailers? If you didn’t know, their “air ride” suspension consists of a rubber…yes RUBBER airbag on the bottom of the tractor and trailer that inflates and deflates as needed to suspend the weight of the vehicle and load. These rubber airbags are subjected to all of the extreme elements. Heat, rain, snow, salt, ice…. All of the harshest elements and they’re expected to support 40+ thousand pounds. I think a little rubber on the limbs of a bow will hold up just fine if these rubber airbags can take the punishment they’re subjected to day in and day out for hours at a time. Your negative opinion on a new innovative idea has no merit. Until it’s proven to be problematic, you could at least give it the benefit of the doubt. You said the V3X is the best bow Mathew’s has made in years. Well, the Phase 4 is an improvement on that, so why not give it the credit it’s due.
@BackyardBows
@BackyardBows Год назад
To be honest Mathew’s didn’t even make my top five this year, I love Mathew’s but I think there is other technology worth investing in, I here constantly “I shot Mathew’s my whole life but I decided to go with elite or Bowtech or Darton this season” I don’t think four limbs, and a hair quieter bow is going to get a consumer back on board, if you understand the market which is primarily blue collar working men, 250 dollar stabilizers isn’t ideal either, again if u have the money sure it’s a “cool” feature not necessary by any means, I give credit where it’s do all the time, there is no benefit from the v3x to the phase 4 in my opinion, and I stand by the four limbs will be phased out at some point 🤷

now that it’s been 9 months, would you choose the Omnia over the V3X 29? I am 5’8” with a 28.5 DL and I spend a lot of time in the tree so a shorter ATA is appealing but that Omnia may be more appealing lol. please give me your honest opinion. I am buying one of the two next week. shot both, both felt good.

Yeah... save the money buying the V3, because you are still going to have to buy a grip and strings... The V3 31 is a good idea.

I’ve got the V3X33 as well, great bow! I believe all the bridgelock stuff is here to stay on future bows, so other companies will make stabilizers, like ViperArchery. They have bridgelock stabilizers under $100.

You get guys that think hunting is for them, and go out and buy these new flagship bows, run a dozen arrows through it and place in a bow case until they decide they want there money back, used but like new, happens all the time.
