After a decade Hoyt has changed the engine, feeling the heat from all the other manufacturers. Same looking Hoyt hunting bow with a hole new system. This bow is making my lineup see what bow gets cut.
Ive shot Mathews for years but I went to Hoyt Ventum Pro 30 this year. To me it blew the Mathews away with it being way more smoother, way more dead in the hand, and it just held better for me
Just saw this video. I watch your videos all the time. New subscriber. I’ve been shooting for about two years. I have a diamond edge. I can’t afford a new bow. But I did shoot the ventum pro 33 and WOW. I loved it. Shot it @ 60lb and it felt like 50.
Its nice to see Hoyt changing things up finally. The cam and a half system was great but seemed like it was always kind of unsteady and jumpy at full draw. Will be nice shooting a hoyt again
Finally found a shop that had them all, and I have no brand loyalty. I shot bows for four hours; Ventum pro, RX7 ultra, V3X, Prime Inline 3, Elite, SR350, PSE. I quickly narrowed to the Prime, Ventum Pro 33, and V3X. If I hadn’t had the opportunity to run the bows for an afternoon, the V3X blew me away first shot. But, I did. The RX7 Ultra was the best, but only marginally and not for the price point. It was out. The Elite felt like I had short stroked an inside fastball with an aluminum bat. The Bowtech felt clunky and loud. I ended up with the Ventum Pro 33 but it was TOUGH. I think I’d have been happy with any, but as a total package it was just better. The V3X was smoother, for sure. But the more I shot it the more it felt squishy and unsure at full draw. And I hate their propensity for crummy factory strings. That said, it’s an awesome bow and I really liked it. I LOVE the center grip balance of the Prime. Best Buy of the bunch, but it seemed a tad jumpier and less stable than the Hoyt. I think it measures quieter but my ear heard it far louder than the Hoyt or Matthews. The Ventum Pro 33 was just really good everywhere, so I got it in buckskin. Anyone shooting a flagship 2022 bow is going to be very happy. Shoot everything you can and grab the one that calls ya.
This is exactly where I am at, people ask me all the time what’s the best bow, I tell them everytime in 2022 it’s preference, your makeup is different than mine like a finger print, go shoot ‘em all have fun doing it and one will stand out. Thanks for the comment
@@BackyardBows Nailed it. Sorry for the long comment, it formatted better while I was typing. Thanks for this video - you know, actually shooting the bow. Too many shoot 3 arrows at 5 yards through a chrono and then tell us all their expert opinion.
I got my Hoyt torrex XT LD one 30inch axle to axle and I love it is my first bow made by Hoyt for me the riser is the best look on a market I call the torrex XT a sniper cos super accurate really good grip! And I don’t need to spend 1000$or more for a carbon bow rx5 or rx7 .the only one thing you didn’t mentioned my friend is that the Hoyt use the same limbs in Torrex XT one and Ventum with make the torrex XT super fast with 350g arrow it shoots 330 -333fps at 70pounds and make the most fastest bow !
we have the torrex up soon, and I can already seeing myself agreeing with you, unless money is not a concern most of the time there is no need to spend the extra thousand, mid priced bows are out performing flagship bows from 4-5 years ago
I really like your reviews. Very helpful. I am stuck trying to decide between a Ventum 33 or a v3x 33. I am 29" draw. 70# I currently have a 2013 Hoyt Spyder Turbo as my hunting bow. I like the bow but need more of a let off for elk hunting. I find my biggest issue with this bow is the grip and some torque. I am sure you'll feel that both bows are excellent. Because I hunt elk in the mtns of BC, there is a lot of steep and thick country I need to move through. The weight of the ventum is a small concern. The most ideal bow would be the Lift 33 but I can't justify the price....maybe in a few years. A year after this video was released, have you been grabbing the v3x or the Ventum pro more when you're hunting? thank you!
My first bow ever was the 2006 Hoyt Special Edition Turbo Tec @ 70#'s and a 29" draw...I just sold it this year and got my 3rd and final bow which is the Hoyt Ventum Pro 30...It's set at 82#'s shooting 675 gr. FMJ's @ 250 fps...It's super 🤫 and the grip is the best I've ever felt on any bow, ever...The draw is strong but smooth and the dump into the valley is beautiful...Impo, the Ventum Pro is the best aluminum bow ever made and I have the Mathews VXR 31.5" and a PSE EVO EVL 32"...
Hoyt is really trying to change my mind. In the late 90's when I was serious about archery, I swore I would never own a Hoyt. They were heavy, slow, and I knew several people who had limbs explode. Today, I'm not sure it isn't the best looking bow, and apparently the best feeling bow, on the market. UGH!
I’m trying to get a refine or redemption to review, bear Alaskan will be up this Saturday to start off our budget bow series, and I have been shooting the ventum pro the most recently 🔥
@@BackyardBows my favorite bow is my bear status eko. i got two just because one is my backup. i always have backups on backups for my hunting guns and bows. a buddy that is new to archery got a cruzer g2. im like buddy, get you one of these statuses. he loves it! dont know why he has to get the same color as me, maybe he wants to be my like me, idk.
Regrets (only cause I had to buy more bows) one from each company Prime - revex Hoyt - rx7 Elite - omnia Darton - spectra e Bowtech - solution ss Mathews - safari Bear - refine Wish I would have been able to keep and continue to hunt with all of these
The change of mods being right on my draw lengths 29-291/2 i had to make a choice , and the second mod felt more comfortable to me maybe I’ll buy the first mod and shoot both again
Great vids. Is it better to be at the top if the mod or the bottum of the mod. Ive got last years ventum 30 with a draw length of 28. The string angle is manageable. So im at the top of the mod. Im wondering if i switched to the second mod gained a half inch in draw weight, wiuld there be an increase in performance. Cheers and thanks for the review. Its great to see my last years "flagship bow" is still relivent. Lol
I would love to start an open discussion about this, does shooting at the front or end of mod make a difference in performance or draw cycle. Personally I will try both if it falls on my draw length and I haven’t noticed much. But if you get on archery talk guys will say that there is a significant difference and have strong opinions.
The HBX Pro cam will have peak mod performance in the A (#3 mod) and E (#2 mod) position. Those positions are different draw lengths for every bow they offer with HBX Pro cam. If you’re after the best speed from your bow then find the one that your draw length would hit in either one of those positions
