Wow the size of the pomelos and choquette avocado are fantastic. Can't believe the amount of guavas developing for Winter. Black sapote are beautiful as well 😁

Trees in the big white plastic house are growing well, I dont see where the holes for air to come out . I have too much steam in my white plastic house.

Outstanding success all round Alyssa. Your avocados and custard apple growth rates are amazing. Then there’s the crops. Looks like the Choquette will weigh well over 1kg. Be interesting to see the flavour comparison with Reed and Hass. You can prune the lanky branches of the white sapotes and custard apples back to a metre or so. Then remove 2 or 3 leaves at the end of the branch so each underlying bud shoots away. If the leaves are left on, chances are only one will shoot just increasing the length of the branch. A more compact tree will result from pruning with more lateral/side branches which will bear more flowers. You’ll probably be safe removing the lower branches on the avocado next to your shed. Saw some shooting below the graft? Late afternoon summer sun might be an issue there? Not sure which way it faces. Definitely remove your avocado seedlings as you can see how big the trees can grow. Well over 10 metres! Surprised it was just 16C in the enclosure. The more enclosed the better. The jackfruit bag can be closed now that the winter cold has set in. It shouldn’t burn with low light conditions. Can see your partner has done so much good work. Going to have a continual supply of fresh fruit for years to come. I would remove the cherry. So many better trees to put there.

@@alyssastropicalfruittrees5754 That’s fine Alyssa. Just one point if you haven’t pruned the white sapote and custard apples yet, leave it til spring as there’ll be minimal growth now and the growth there already will help to protect the other more cold sensitive tropicals. Just remember to make the enclosure as tight as possible to maximise the internal temperature. Placing pavers around the floor helps to absorb heat during the day and release it at night much like a footpath or driveway near a tree but on a lower scale. Good luck!!
