I made a video about playing back Bad Apple on Eink screens almost 5 years ago ( • Bad Apple on an E-ink ... ), it was running at 2.4FPS. This time I present you E-Ink screen running at 60FPS. The video is not edited in anyway and uploaded directly from my camera to RU-vid. This is part of effort to build an open source Eink monitor and laptop. I will make a video in details about how this is done in the future. But for now, feel free to take a look at www.modos.tech and learn a bit more about the project background.

The slight ghosting looks so cool, you can tell that this little display is firing on all cylinders to run this fast.

software based solution with a custom LUT, or have you bypassed the driver circuitry and made your own better one? Either way, fantastic results. I look forward to the details video!

I own an Amazon Kindle (8th) and 60 FPS on an E-ink is unheard of for me. Maybe this is what Google had envisions of an E-ink TV however they said that wayyyy long time ago.

My new Hisense A7 can display 7 FPS on its eink display. Better than the Amazon Kindle, but still far away from fluid video playback..

just perform a full refresh after the video ends, it’ll be fine (I think)

Why? it's just little pockets of charged pigment bouncing up and down in tiny containers for each pixel. As long as it's not being overdriven with a higher voltage or something I don't see what the issue would be. I've not heard of "burn-in" or anything like that on e-ink screens before, but I'm no expert, correct me if I am being inaccurate here

@@ff-qf1th As a non expert talking to a non expert. I don't know. That's why I'm asking. Nothing lasts forever, so using technology initially made to display at 2fps and pushing it to 60fps is marvelous but I wonder about the drawvacks. Because doing so we're using it "30 times more" than usual. Pigments could demagnetize, get stuck somewhere it's not supposed to be, etc I have no clue. That's why I'm asking.

hello friend greetings I saw on your page about changing the screen of a tektronix oscilloscope tds210 , mine has been damaged I would like to know how I can adapt the screen I read that you had to connect an additional micro the screen model I got is this UG-32F01 5.2 " 320x240 QVGA it is possible that it can help me thanks
