Hi all,
I did say in the first video I was going to keep the videos short, and this is the longest one still!!
This is all about the move that kept me playing golf because nearly ten years ago if it wasn’t for this, there was a very good chance I would have had to stop playing golf, due to the pain it was causing my back.
I’ll promise I’ll keep it shorter next time but I hope you find it interesting and as always, if you have any questions please bud them over and I’ll do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.
Many thanks as always for showing up.
Regards
Warren

Good Day Sir Warren, i've been attempting to add more rotation in my swing as of late.... for self preservation as well as more consistency... in so, i've reduced my golf swing into a world of 3\4 punch shots to concentrate on more rotation knowing that better contact will always be less detrimental to joints, ligaments and tendons... you mentioned reading and studying towards an easier swing on your back.... i think that is a key part of improvement, the old addage "digging it out of the dirt" didn't serve me well. recording your swing is another key part of improvement, as you mentioned. We all know feels VS reals is never the same unless you see it for yourself. Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi Les, many thanks for contacting me again. You’re definitely right, having a 3/4 action can be very efficient in helping marry the body movements and club together correctly, whilst improving strike etc. I think the world of technology makes it so much easier these days in getting results as back in the day I had a mirror and feel. This can be detrimental sometimes if used incorrectly but used wisely it can be incredibly beneficial in fast tracking progress. I feel so passionate about giving golfers their understanding. Many thanks Regards Warren

Hi Warren - I am now in a similar position to you 10 years ago! Way to strong a grip, slapping and manipulating the clubface and the worst lower back pain in 50 years! We have begun reconstruction in a similar method and using the same?similar drills to move from steep to shallow and rotate - such a great feeling to pure the ball 5/6 times in a row(so far!!!) What are your thoughts on the takeaway - ie - club out in front, hinge, rotate shoulders to keep some width and also stance - I have moves ever so slightly to an open stance with pretty square shoulder alignment to the target. Happy to have baby draws and fades. Thoughts??

Hello Warren, Thank you for your excellent teaching videos. They all have helped my game. When you speak of the turn, from the shallowing, our you equally turning, shoulders, torso, knees together as you lower the right arm and roll it? Or what drives the pivot? Thank you, Jeff

Are you also now doing this type of swing for the driver, as opposed to your earlier driver video we’re you initially keep your back to the target on the downswing and let the centrifugal force catapult your arms past your body and the momentum rotate your upper body?
@maheshtailor2825
@maheshtailor2825 9 месяцев назад
My question also. You don’t seem to be releasing with the wrists as much as in previous videos which were almost arms only? Or is this for Elite and arms swing for beginners?

My 2nd question (with all appreciation for your time) Been looking for an explanation or way to recreate a particular ballflight I hit for 7 consecutive shots but never again (iron and hybrid). Figured as a former european tour pro and coach maybe you have some insight. I have asked 2 professional coaches (1 in person) but didnt get a reply. It was a penetrating flight that started lower than normal and would appear to approach an apex about 70% my normal but would unexpectedly climb to a 2nd apex then fall (15-20% climb). It certainly didnt feel like I had alot of "trap", more of a level hit. The story behind it was I was having the worst range session ever even to this day (always working on downswing or release) and had that 7 balls left, closing time. Have always had a flat backswing and had recently noticed how Hogan in his backswing would go around then at left arm parallel go vertically up to the top. This vertical part interested me and so I thought to try it in my own way. I did my takeaway, paused and made the shaft stand vertically up. With absolutely no idea/feeling or intention of what I did on the downswing, I hit the exact same magical ballflight consecutively.
@warrenbennettgolfacademy
@warrenbennettgolfacademy Год назад
I agree with what you say in terms of flat swing. It’s ok to have a flat left arm plane, you mention hogan, but having a deep club will be trouble, so it’s ok to have a flat left arm plane but you must hinge the club up like you say. Hope it stays well for you as you seem to put in the grind. All the best Warren

Very appreciative of your generosity in sharing your personal secret Warren. The twin views are great. Have 2 questions but 2nd one I'll put in a separate comment. @9:41 when you show the "re rotation", it reminded me of a swing feel I had once that worked very well in producing a very consistent tight draw without need of forearm rotation through impact. How I arrived at it was trying to get into a good "delivery position" as defined by Pete Cowen. Which is the position you reach @9:44 (hands infront of right leg, shaft 7 o'clock, face square to the arc. I have a flat backswing so I had to feel left forearm supination while the shaft is still above parallel (versus supinating only at p6 shaft parallel in downswing) kinda tipping the clubhead out from left arm parallel, just as you show. So my question : is this what you mean by re-rotate? Sequence-wise are you effectively getting the hands and club to move down without the hips opening too much? And if I have a flat backswing, would that minimise my need to shallow the club? Why I have been thinking to go back to it is because it allowed me to really rotate and swing faster just by how hard or fast I stood up using my left leg (this is my secret). In fact I had so much power that I didnt have the muscles to slow it down in the follow through (but no back pain). And I loved this feeling. I did give up on it because I tend to squat too much with it in transition leading to fat shots and I noticed the pros had their left leg post up much earlier.
@warrenbennettgolfacademy
@warrenbennettgolfacademy Год назад
Many thanks for the message and it’s my pleasure to put the vids out there, I’m still learning in front of the camera so lovely to hear positive feedback, thank you. I guess my first re-rotation is in transition when I’m rotating my wrists and forearm, then there’s a secondary one of left arm parallel to into impact, I only did this in drill format to train the different release compared to the old move. I would be careful though as you say you have a flat backswing so I maybe would leave too much shallowing as you may have in built into your backswing as you say. Sounds like you had a swing that worked and produced something that you were happy with that created power. I guess if you’re shallow coming into the ball (I think) posting the left leg will be of benefit to encourage room for your hands, arms and club to swing through, as keeping too much flex in the left leg ‘can’ limit the amount of rotation through the ball, so I would say that would be a good matchup for the backswing. Hope that helps Regards Warren

@warrenbennettgolfacademy
@warrenbennettgolfacademy Год назад
Hi John, For me it’s a combo of both, release into impact as well as full rotation, But for the majority for me it was a big focus on plane then as much rotation of the body as possible as before I didn’t have any. For some as mentioned in previous vids, it may require full arm/hand release (for those who are too body dominant). Hope that help John, if not please ask. Regards Warren

I ask the same question again Warren, are you now using this type of swing for your driver as opposed to the earlier swing where you kept your back to the target at impact and then used the slingshot effect for release and the momentum turning your body?
@warrenbennettgolfacademy
@warrenbennettgolfacademy Месяц назад
Robert, it all depends on the individual, but if I was coaching a client with a bad back and had to accommodate that, I would work on this rotary move so it puts zero pressure on the back. Hope that helps Warren
@paull544
@paull544 11 месяцев назад
Hi Warren, I struggle with rotation and am confused by where the shoulders should point at impact. I tend to have my lead shoulder too high at impact. Do you get the shoulders open at impact or in line with the target? Thanks
@warrenbennettgolfacademy
@warrenbennettgolfacademy 10 месяцев назад
Hi Paul, It sound like you have too much tilt in your shoulders, if that is the case it will be very hard for you to rotate as too much tilt will restrict movement big time. If you have too much tilt your shoulders maybe too closed coming down and at impact. I would ‘feel’ your left shoulder lower and behind you coming down and through impact, this will give your body the chance to open up. So to answer your question, if the above is right, I would feel more open at impact but this feeling will automatically give you that. Hope it helps. Kind regards Warren

Hi So I’ve been doing that drill, not alot cause I just started but I have one question that I can’t figure out an no one seems to explain it….what hand is dominant during downswing and from what I can tell, i have to somehow get the hand to the ball before the club, correct? Like hands winning the race to the ball, then pivot and club comes naturally. Am i correct or am I way wrong? I can’t seem to get forward shaft lean even with this drill and it’s really bugging me. I’m struggling with distance, 8i barely 130m 😅 if i hit it ok and sometimes i hit it perfectly and goes 140-150m
