Hi everyone,
Welcome to another video on the channel thank you very much for everyone support and wishing you a very happy New Year on and off the golf course.
I thought I’d start off this year with my number one tip if you would like to increase your distance, speed and strike. I first described this move in one of my early videos less is more, and is one of the core fundamentals of my teaching.
The sentence that I say in this video and best describes this Philosophy is “ The ingredients you need to hit the ball further, you can’t feel.” Too many people put too much effort into their golf swing without the reward, because they are over using the wrong area of their body.
Please if you’ve got any questions contact me via the comments below, or any of the academy social media sites.
Thanks everyone and hope you have a great golfing week.
Kind regards as always,
Warren

Thanks once more Warren, your first video ages ago with the impact bag I combined with one of Padraigh's drills for speed and it helped me improve strike quality. Still use the thought while warming up with the bag being imaginary now. And thanks for reminding me to keep rotating to avoid my hook, just like my own pro. It makes me think sometimes that a bit of yoga would add value too at 50+ 😊

Thanks Warren, good video! how much power are you contributing from your lower body?
@warrenbennettgolfacademy
@warrenbennettgolfacademy 6 месяцев назад
Hi john, Thank you so much for your question . With this exercise not a lot, I’m shifting a little bit over to the left and kicking off my right leg which is putting weight onto my left. When I’m swinging full speed there will be a slight pressure produced in the legs in the transition, so there is a degree of pressure being stored in the legs, but you must let go with the hands and arms and release. I hope that helps, and kind regards Warren

I’ve always thought swinging the club was like a whipping motion but it looks like you are purposely un cocking your wrists. Have I got this correct warren ???
@warrenbennettgolfacademy
@warrenbennettgolfacademy 7 месяцев назад
Hi there, I like the analogy of a whipping action but I think it’s important to keep or increase setting/cocking of the wrists in transition and downswing, but also to get rid of this lag and release and square the hands and clubface just before impact. I’m happy to do a review or swing analysis for you, it’s free of charge, just send your swing into me via insta/facebook academy page. Many thank Warren

Hi Warren... love your videos... keep them coming. Can I ask for some advice from a golfer who wears spectacles. I had an accident when I was seven and damaged my right eye. Unfortunately it never healed and eventually I had to wear varifocals which I can't wear for golf. As I am left eye dominant, I'm having line up problems with driving and putting. My drives tend to go straight left and I try to compensate by aiming right. Any ideas and should I consider non-varifocal glasses. Might be worth a video for golfers who wear glasses.
@warrenbennettgolfacademy
@warrenbennettgolfacademy 7 месяцев назад
That’s a good point and sooty to hear about your restrictions in you eye sight Jim. Yes I’m sure there’s going to be a compensation for that Jim. All I can say without seeing your swing is firstly I would train to aim yourself square, so by either trial and error on the range putting an alignment stick or club down on your toe line, or get someone to take a look at you regularly. When you know you’re aiming square and the ball goes straight left you know it’s your swing that’s causing it and not your alignment. Then you can introduce more of a bit right feeling? You can just aim further right (if you are aiming right) to compensate the pull. but I feel this is not addressing the fault and long term can cause more problems by having to come over the top, I’ve seen this get worse and worse in my time with many. As for the glasses, it is a pain as I too now wear varifocals and find it harder to play with. Right now I don’t have enough knowledge in this department Jim but I will do some research as see what comes out of it. If you have a spare pair on n

I have a tendency to have a slightly cupped left wrist on the backswing and downswing - does it matter when I perform the anti slicer swing you show? Thanks.
@warrenbennettgolfacademy
@warrenbennettgolfacademy 7 месяцев назад
Hi Robert, thanks for the message. It's ok to have a cupped left wrist, but you must release your hands so your left (if you're a RH) isn't cupped at impact. otherwise you maybe adding loft and encouraging a scooping action. Regards Warren

Hi Warren, I like your snap swing tip. But when I snap (right over left hand) my wrists the ball tends to go left of target? Am I doing it correctly? If so what’s the fix? Appreciate your thoughts on this.
@warrenbennettgolfacademy
@warrenbennettgolfacademy 7 месяцев назад
Hi, thanks for your message. One of my first instincts when someone comes up with this problem, the first thing I say is make sure you're doing it with your wrists and arms only. When a golfer tends to encourage more release they tend to introduce the back shoulder because it's easier to feel, which makes it easier to come over the top. Otherwise make sure your path is more into out, as it's very hard to over release the club when the path is neutral or in to out. I go into more details in the Pull or Pull Hook video a couple of weeks back. I hope this helps. Regards Warren
