Hello everyone!
This video is about a straight forward repair of a switch mode power supply.
It is a common fault for the capacitors to fail on equipment that operates 24/7.
Using some low ESR and some standard ones we got it back to life!

Hey good day sir I also have a dcx2496 drive rack but mine will come on and them shout off and if u leave for a few days it will come on and the same thing will repeat it self ,I have open and clean the board with contact cleaner ,what you think may be the step change the caps

From the symptoms you describe it is probably 90% that the capacitors are faulty...

Hey am having the same issue with my dcx2496 power supply I have changed all the caps on the board but still no power so I bought a damaged fbq2496 feedback destroyer which uses the same power supply. Thing is it carries the same 7 wire connector to the board from the power supply but the color wire is white and red stripes where in the original is straight red and black. Could you say if the connections are the same with both power supply?? Thank you

On the original power supply did you change the 2 small caps near the middle of the board? They are a 1uf and 47uf as displayed at 7:45 in the video.... Now about the power supplies, i couldn't locate the fbq2496 service manual to confirm it is exactly the same power supply. According to dcx2496 service manual connections are: X2 connector: pin 1 = +5VA-1 pin 5,6 = +15V pin 7,8 = -15V pin 9,10 = A (think this is GND) pin 11,12= D (this is also GND) pin 13 = +5V pin 14 = N/C Hope this helps!

So with this pon arrangements, if you are to use a conventional transformer matching the volts it should work
