N. Brio in Crash: Mind Over Mutant is voiced by Maurice LaMarche. Maurice LaMarche is known for voicing The Brain in Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain. The Brain was the main influence for Dr. Neo Cortex. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WE'VE COME FULL CIRCLE
Man I'm surprised you listed the cutscenes in Mind Over Mutant as a negative. It's like the best thing about the game. Pretty much the only reason to play the game is to see the next cutscene
@@Mongoliantiger Backtracking is the only bad part. The game is way funnier than titans, the titans have a purpose (instead of destroying something), the final boss is not bad (worse the titans, but not bad), the designs are better, it is way more enjoyable, it has a better balance of difficulty (Titans gets unfairly hard at some points) and the theme song is better
@@Mongoliantiger Sometimes, I must admit. But there were parts on Titans that were unfair (Like that 3 ratcicles, the sludge introduction or the whole Uka-uka boss fight). Considering Crash is a franchise made mostly for kids, being easy is not a big issue
12:16 The whole "different styles of cutscenes" thing was because the plot was about mind control helmets disguised as multimedia devices, and the way the cutscenes were done resonated well with what looks like everybody... _except you, apparently!_
Disappointed Turtle the BbNn guy was just giving his honest opinion. You're basically saying "fuck off for not liking a game that I like." don't be so close minded.
"guy was just giving his honest opinion." Well in my opinion Bb Nn's an idiot, either that or a hardcore contrarian that wants to be different from the crowd. Probably the latter.
Things I learned from this comment section: People really enjoyed Twinsanity and the Mutant line of games For real though, if in a near future they anounce a Twinsanity remake (being a COMPLETE game), then I'm sold
YES! It always saddens me a little when i go trough the Unoused BonusSection of the Game. It would not supprise me if Twinsanitty Island was never suppose to be the Final Level
I had the game on PS2 once. Booted it up once, turned it off to go eat. Game never worked again. I got it in the three pack set with nitro kart and crash tag team racing
I remember crash of the titans. I liked it. The mutants mechanic is fun and the combat like said here is simple but enjoyable. And N. Gin just steals the show. He’s voiced by Nolan north and as you can imagine he hams it up. He hams it up big time. He even gets into an argument with himself like Gollum! “But dr cortex is our friend! Shut up! He’s not our friend! He always kicked us in the tuckus! And other...very gentle spots! But I liked it when he did that! It was kind of fun.” “I am the worst thing to happen to music, since ANDREW LOYD WEBBER!” But yeah I do question the redesigns. Like besides crash getting tribal tattoos, they make tiny tiger look like a more realistic tiger with a military uniform and make him sound and talk like...mike Tyson. Oh and they made him a wimp.
Austin Morrison They didn‘t make Tiny more realistic, they completely changed his species. In the original games he was a Tasmanian Tiger, a marsupial like Crash
The onley one who dosnet look all that diffrent is N-Gin and i acually prefer Ninas new Design over the old. But Uka-Uka is by FAR the worst in my opinion. I remember when i saw him for the first time in Crash 3 i acually was a little bit afraid of him. Wich i find impressife that tey manage to let a Fliying Mask be realy intimidating.
Crash of the titants and Wrath of cortex were like my whole childhood. We couldnt afford any more crash games, so those two were the only ones i played. thats why they are my favourites.
"It's such a weird name.. Boom Bang? I-I get it, I mean- you had Bash beforehand, so you're just gonna throw more 'B' words that come to mind? Okay sure I can do that too: So in Crash: Buck to the Boom to the Bump to the Bass to the Bickety Buck Bumble-"
Unlike Sonic, (I don’t chuckle! I’d rather flex. my muscles! … Okay, in all seriousness,) Crash Bandicoot never really had a Meta Era of its own, but it did have one meta game… Mind Over Mutant aka the Sonic Boom (mainly what is nearly (points to Counter Productive and Just a Guy which has that hilariously self-aware line from Sonic when he’s treated like the bad guy no matter how heroic he may be most of the time) Cartoon Network’s best shows up to the ranks of most of Cartoon Cartoon Fridays including but not limited to Time Squad, The Powerpuff Girls (seasons 1 - 4 aka the original Craig McCracken series), Whatever Happened to… Robot Jones, Courage the Cowardly Dogs, Ed, Edd ‘n Eddy (seasons 1 - 4), Johnny Bravo (seasons 1 - 3), I Am Weasel (and this is coming from a non-fan of Cow and Chicken and Hanna-Barbera in general with a few noticeable exceptions), Dexter’s Lab (seasons 1 - 2) and Codename: Kids Next Door) the Crash franchise.
NinjaGMN, Pokemon Fanatic That ad has been stalking me across RU-vid. Anything remotely Crash related (sometimes not even that) and I get to watch Crash exercise for 5 seconds.
15:45 The way that cutscene is animated and the way AntDude talks here looks like he's voicing that cutscene. I don't know if that was intentional or not, but it is really cool!
@@kieranstark7213 I liked it, and i still do despite that i was a kid when it first came out. I might be a little biased because of nostalgia but i don't see anything wrong with it.
@@_xotik7425 Nah, bruh. This is hot trash. Metroid Prime 2 Echoes had less backtracking than this slog pretending to be a Crash Bandicoot game, and Metroid Prime 2 is backtrack city.
I feel so bad for games like crash of the Titans. You know games that are good games, but don't receive as much love because the formula is different from other games of that series.
Just like Twinsanity, Crash of the Titan's story had elements removed. One such example was that Crash's tribal tattoos would've been the result of being exposed to Mojo, also Cortex would've also originally kidnapped Purra & Baby Polar as well. Plus, Crunch & Coco would've been playable characters
TheSkyrax 669 props are due for that grim adventures of Billy and Mandy reference. That quote was from the episode where Mandy actually smiles while competing in a pageant, isn’t it?
Idk, Titans seems to be alright from what I've heard of. If they could make a decent trilogy of spyro beat em ups why did they fail with crash is my question
I found the Mind over Mutant cutscenes neat. Crash was always weird in some way so why not make the the cutscenes different after every one or two. Kinda sad he did not show the last two as those just killed me when I first saw them.
Never played it much as I think the one we had gotten from someone was messed up, but from a playthrough I watched it not that bad of a game just way off what Crash is known for. Hell I can at least say it did not go the Nuts & Bolts route so it's at least more faithful the series then that game was.
stareanddream MOM was the first video game I played to 100%. I loved it in my PSP and it made me love platformers. Even the part where he says he had to back track the snow section was one my favourite parts in the game. It had long loading screens, it was glitchy, it was too easy and boring, but I have nostalgia.
even tho I haven't played mind over mutants I really love the art styles the cutscenes I was indifferent on most of the redesigns in that Era except for 1 character that I didn't like the change (it was tiny)
I'm pretty sure I've seen somewhere that the censored part is just Crash biting on Cortex's leg like an angry dog, but I can't remember _where_ I saw that.
@@KidSnivy69 Your opinion is your opinion, my dude! XD But I was a child when I played it, and children are easy to bore. Just think there must be something to it if that's the case!
I really enjoyed the Mind Over Mutants cut scenes, the shifts on the style never gets old, I remember back when I played it for the first time, it was exciting to see what the next one was going to look like. Also the redesigns, I like how Coco looks on this one, she looks more like mechanic/inventor (the same vibe I get from Sonic Boom's Tails).
Well crash of the titans wasn't really open, you just had to beat up titans, jump through platforms, and got to point A to point B. Yeah sure it had some pretty big places that you could walk around and etc, but you would just explore those big places just to get mojos to upgrade crash's abilities.
I fell in love with Crash of the Titans when I was younger. It’s not a typical Crash game but I think you need to take it for what it is. It’s a really fun 3D platformer with these mutants that all have different abilities
I used to Play Boom Bang........... Until a Huge Fight over the game between me and some friends..... Let's just say....... The bathroom door nearly got destroyed that day...
Crash mind over mutant is basically how the mutants tht cortex had under captivity, escaped all over the island & crash comes in contact w them throughout the game
Honestly not going to lie, two things I loved about the Titans games was 1. Crunch became a main character living with Crash and Coco, and 2. Although I felt like Crash's modern look was a bit too modern and didn't fit with that tattoos, I loved Coco's and felt like I got to see her grow up a bit.
The 2 titans games are good games, just not good Crash games. (It just seemed like an odd decision to make it into a Crash game) And I would be excited for the N Sane Trilogy (*Because I cannot contain my excitement*) I just unfortunately don't have a PS4.
Same can be said about the Legend of Spyro Trilogy, also published by Sierra. A lot of people really passionately dislike it, but those games were actually pretty good. If they hadn't tried to cash in on Spyro's name, they'd likely have gotten the recognition they would have deserved.
I disagree, I think they are good games, no matter how you change Crash.. He will still be Crash. As long as the gameplay is fun then screw anything else. Also I had tons of fun with the co-op. Man the good times.
If you think the console version of Mind over Mutant is bad, then you should see the how bad the DS port is! Which is kinda ironic as the DS port of Titans was quite good and perhaps better than console counterpart as it took more elements from the classic trilogy.
Yeah, although I liked the monster designs it was just... weird. It had nothing to do with the other ports of said game, completely different story and all. Glad someone else remembers that port. Kinda wish somebody would cover it.
I think the different art styles in Mind Over Mutant would have worked if they had been linked to specific characters (ie: cartoony for Crash, darker cartoon for Cortex etc.) but that wouldn’t have helped the actual game...
I loved mind over mutant and I thought it was a perfect game But then again I was a kid when I played it, still loved the multiplayer though Still never figured out how to unlock/equip different skins cause I remember in the little preview (if u don’t touch the controller on the menu screen) I saw the second player as coco
Crash mind over The mutant is one of my Favourite crash games. I love The humor, The diffrent style of The cutscenes, The combat is still fun and The type of open world is fun to Explore but I Get all of your points, It’s not a perfect game by any means.
Crash of the Titans was Mario Odyssey like 10 YEARS AWAY FROM MARIO ODYSSEY. Possessing enemies and gaining their abilities, done with headwear, yep Odyssey is a full on port of Crash of the Titans to the Switch.
I think Crash of the titans is the Sonic Boom equivalent of Crash Bandicoot, Sonic Boom takes place in an alternate reality so I think it's safe to say the same goes for Crash, though Crash did it first what with the redesigns and alternated game play. But that's just my theory. (Oh boy here we go...)
Gonna be real here, I've only played the first 2 Crash games, but Mind Over Mutant's cutscenes make me want to play that one the most. THEY LOOK SO GOOD!
Crash Twinsanity and Crash Mind Over Mutant were my childhood games. I still play these games today. Anyway, nice video, AntDude! Keep up the good work! Please, post some more Crash Bandicoot videos.
If you want some real bad crash games, play the DS version of mind over mutant and the GBA port of Titans. On the opposite spectrum, the DS port of Titans is quite good and a nice throwback to the PS1 games.
MOM DS had pretty interesting concepts... Mutants leveling up, the bosses being mutations of a mutant caused by the iconic gems from the series... *sigh*
The back of the "Crash Twinsanity" disk box where the censored part was covered with the ESRB Content Rating has got me real good and it was extremely humorous! 😂 At first I thought they screwed up on the placing but THEY MEAN IT.
OH MY GOD I PLAYED THE CROSS OVER AS A KID. I used to reset the game constantly cos I wanted the "special mode to pop up" were you press buttons in a rythm or something
AnyThingWorx I think its because it's basically a watered down version of crash 3. The bosses weren't that great. The controls were a bit on the slippery side. The music was okay . And the levels felt to bland. And I wasn't fond of the vehicles.
AnyThingWorx to me twinsanity is the better out of the two to be honest. Wrath of cortex felt like filler to me. It didn't bring much new to the table like crash 2 and 3 did. Whenever I try to play this game I end up putting it down and I end wanna play crash 2 or 3
Debatable to me, still a good game (TS). And whether or not a game innovates shouldn't be a factor why the games' good, just judge it objectively, which you did.
You are the FIRST person I've watched/talked to that said Nitro kart was actually good..... that makes me so happy. I mean so many concepts from Crash were used in Mario Kart such as the Zero gravity wheel change thing, Crash did that WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY before Mario Kart. (Nitrokart had it first, then it was introduced in MK8. for reference Nitrokart is from the Gamecube PS2 era for those who don't know) and to have someone not say "oh this seems like a MK8 rip off" is amazing.
7:26 - funny thing is, that Crash is an idiot - he has to be told NOT to eat the things his sister and friends send him to get xD he would TOTALLY buy that those things are 'Spyro' because he just wouldn't know any better When nearly the same concept is used in Spyro Orange, however... ... ... yeah, Spyro is NOT an idiot :P xD
It's crazy how recognizable voice actors are. At 16:14 N. Brio's scream sounded identical to Father from Codename: Kids Next Door when he gets angry, and sure enough a little googling proved me right, that they're both voiced by Maurice LaMarche.
Mind over mutant and crash of titans where pretty great games tho. Sure it’s different but nobody complained about Monster Hunter Stories so why this, it was fun and that’s really what counts
@Fernando Nah, mutants were full of backtracking and it was just too easy. Atleast in titans you were adventuring unlike mutant where 50% of the game were just walking
Crash of the Titans had a better level design, while Mind Over Mutant had a better combat. I choose the later because Titans could get real annoying at times at how Crash is close to powerless against most enemies.
@@jordanwilliam3207 In mutants your only goal was to beat some weak ass mutants, no challenge and it was always the same, nothing new so it was boring af
@@Mongoliantiger Titans fare no better then. Fighting as Crash alone is a nightmare but once you jack just one mutant, you could just spam the mutants' ultimate move and be done with it. Mind Over Mutant's enemy mutants have better, more aggressive AI, and thus, careful timing is actually required for the combat. AntDude's point about Titans being more balanced between Crash and the mutants gameplay is something I disagree with when Crash is completely powerless against giants like Shellephant and Scroporilla unless if you get the Freejack Mask by luck.
For real, i played the titans games when i was child i completely loved both, i liked crash prior games but these are just a new way to see the character and explore him... the variation of cutscenes were one of my favorite spotlights and any of fhe backtracking in MoT bothered me, for real... i believe that it just wasn't to be eenjoy by the classic crash style hardcore fan base... (and i really remember to play both of those completely many times just to relieve these experiences)
