how is bad news when it comes under warranty too? bad news means he paid for it, good news means warranty covered it... title is bullshit too lol click bait
So many of these guys just like to hear themselves talk. The real skill is keeping it simple and to the point. There are only a few that know how to do that.
Fred Smith lol thanks Freddy. Not hating on Archie, just stating a fact. Actually quite enjoy his content and the content he makes with TGE. Thanks for pointing out who the real “bellend” is 😂😂😂
That’s not fair. Let him just enjoy HIS car for a bit now it’s fixed. Track days need to be planned and organised as well. He is trying, give the man a break.
Why do I not believe that the receptionist would be rude to him. Why do I suspect he was waffling away at them (like in this video) and they got bored of listening! So fobbed him off. All these RU-vidr "influencers" love to play the "Do you know who I am?" game too. I wouldn't entertain any of them personally!
Not sure why certain dealerships treat customers so poorly , I had a similar experience with Porsche Bristol they were dreadful, it seems a lot of high end dealerships for some reason seam to gain an attitude towards customers, is seems you should be grateful that we have allowed you to buy one of our cars , good to see how honest you are about your experiences 👍.
brent powell it’s a supply and demand issue - don’t even need to do anything to sell these limited volume cars - hence lazy uncaring attitude. All too common at the high end with low volumes and massive margins.
@@mnoovurvi my gripe is actually about Porsche, young Archie is gleeful over the mints they gave him for free, but to us more normal consumers your back window turing its self into an air brake and terminal engine mount failure literally months out if the factory is a complete faux pas. I think they've got a cheek putting a monetary amount towards the "cost of repairs"
@@sugarsaint The car is not new, the car is 2016, it's 3 and a half years old. As I said, every brand, model or car can have problems. Dealerships are full of cars for warranty work. They have to by law put the amount it cost for repair, everyone does it. Not sure what your problem is ? Exotic cars are great to use, nobody claims that they are built not to break or use different materials. It's the opposite, they usually will never last for hundreds of thousands of miles like normal cars.
@@blankspace5614 Engine mount is not a very rare damage. With the rear window does not happen, however it could be from twisting, as the chassis is very stiff. Look at how mclarens crack their windshields. This could be the reason why it was starting to come off.
Dear archie Hamilton no racing. Your never going to track a car on finance due to it being owned by the finance company. Please just buy an old m3 (e36, e46) strip it, weld in a cage, seat. Nobody cares what car your in just make some real content for once.
Fluterra it’s called RU-vid logic... 10 minutes plus videos make more money, so guys like this keep chatting away. Man Archie, this could have been a 5 min update video....
I had three for Porsche West London...still waiting for call back promised Friday......🤔 interesting maybe I will not proceed if this is your experience...
Jon Smith with an engine mount you can’t tell if it’s on its last legs the rubber bush might squeak but that couldn’t cause the actual mount itself to snap. It could have come under heavy load with a slight crack (Unseen by anyone) and sheered. We just don’t know.
Scott Hastings end of the day it had warranty so there wasn’t really a point in looking that deeply anyway, don’t think I was having a go at redline as I’m not and have brought a few though cars from them
He said a warning light appeared, it wasn’t there when he got it so when redline had it it wasn’t broke. People fail to realise that problems can occur at any second be it before you buy it, 2 hours after you’ve bought it or 3 months later😂🤷🏽♂️
So is it likely the broken engine mount caused some vibration or twisting of the frame which lead to to the rear glass bond to loosen, it’s a scary thought but probably with the chassis being so stiff that was unlikely, more likely it was just two unrelated issues, hopefully no more problems but I think I would be reluctant to track it having had one broken engine mount and others from the same time of manufacturing still on there!
General question. Why do you have to change the opposite rear tyre, even thought it's perfectly fine? Is it because the new one has more tread their for a few mill higher?
I hope you were safe on the M4. At 9.10 there was an Asda truck going past. Thanks for sharing the downs as well as the ups. Regards, Bob M. South Wales
So how much did u get for plugging reading dealership... FFS mate... Drive round a track or if not just change ur name to AH... Also it's warranty so u paid sweet FA...
How did you end up with the Porsche warranty after buying through redline? It seems really tricky getting a Porsche warranty whilst buying from third party dealer. I believe dealers can't sell cars with a Porsche warranty. I was told in order to do this you could do a pre-purchase inspection by a local Porsche dealership - then you'd have to own the car for 3 months before you could get another 111 point inspection and purchase the warranty on the same day.
This video is definitely not sponsored by Porsche West London. haha Well done Archie on calling them out, and looking forward to seeing videos with you and Tony's cars
If the engine mount has gone already, this car has probably been tracked before. I don't think this is a known problem - but are they the active mounts or is that on other models?
@@leekindell9937 it's such a shame seeing as he is an ex pro driver and obviously cako bako so could easily take any car to a track day and give everyone an in-depth review... Be great content instead of just a drag race with his pals.
Glad its all fixed and sorted Archie 👍 Really looking forward to the track content with you and Tony in your cars! How about cancelling the A45 you have coming and getting a Macan as a daily? Peace and respect, Ben
Dude. NEVER put something which is picked from the ground on the painted part of your car. The dust and micro stone like particles of the ground will scratch the paintwork. And I am not even mentioning the special paintjob this car has.
Love the fact that you explained your negative experience with Porsche west london.. often with these things customer service amongst other things is always presented falsely either due to youtubers being endorsed and thus advertising falsely or dealers/service workshops going all out for youtubers who then document and provide positive review that never live up to the reality for everyday customers.
Had massive issues with OPC West London in the past. Now my car is only going to Reading. They are ace! Well done for calling them out. Only way to hope they will eventually change for the better.
With you all the way. People handing their cars over to garages and then saying "I've just fitted a supercharger to my car" etc. No, someone else is building your car. You definitely are not building it.
Archie you came to the closest Porsche Centre to me my no.1 racing driver. Reading is the headquarters of Porsche in the UK. I would love to meet you in person one day and your amazing cars
When an active engine mount fails, it does not cause the engine to rattle around. It will act as a non-active (solid) engine mount. It is perfectly alright to drive the car with a failed active engine mount. I did it for six months before getting one of mine replaced under warranty.
Archie I had a similar problem. ‘PADM service required’ appeared on my 991 turbo S GB Edition which I purchased through Porsche Center Tonbridge shortly after I purchased it . When calling the dealership the receptionist was very unhelpful and eventually put me through to the service manager whom was equally unhelpful . I ended up sorting the issue out with my local Porsche Center in Tewksbury whom were fantastic. They carried out the full 111 point Porsche check and found that the engine mount was not aligning correctly and this is why the exhaust pipes were wonky ! and consequently why the PADM light appeared on the dash ! In addition to this the two front tyres were badly perished and the titanium bolts holding the exhaust together were corroded and needed replacing oh and so did a brake calliper among other things ! Porsche Center Tonbridge initially tried to riggle out of putting everything right until I kicked up a fuss after the Tewksbury dealership said it was unsafe to drive ! The final bill ( covered under the warranty ) was circa £4000 at cost and would of been considerably more if I were paying myself... Conclusion is Porsche Center Tonbridge sold a car which was not fully prepared and were only interested in the sale with the after sale service on a £120 k car being shocking . Oh forgot to mention the chopped windscreen! Tewksbury brilliant though ! Nice wheels Arch 😉
Covered under warranty........again Well done on the extended warranty..... but a bit click bait. And constantly moaning about the cost of ownership......... buy something cheaper!!!
P.S. when you actually start to track plugs and coils will be a regular as windshields. As for tires remember you can fit cup r tires (the REALLY fast ones) to the 991.1 gt3 rs from the 991.2 gt3 rs.
Porsche of Reading seems to know the definition of customer service. Shame on the other dealership. The small things they do for their customers, while unnecessary, are nice touches that will make their customers feel special.
Porsche Reading are awesome. I bought a boxster S from them a couple of years ago. It had issues every other month, including new engine mount, electrical issues, gear box ecu and a whole new pdk gear box!! Thankfully all under warranty but went over £20k in repairs at the end of it all. Had enough of the car after a while and replaced with a different Porsche at Reading and thankfully this one has all been okay.
I arranged to go and test drive a Macan gts , drove 30 mins to get there with an appointment waited 20 mins then basically got told to leave because there wasn't enough staff to sort out the insurance at Wolverhampton Porsche centre ... couldn't believe how rude they was. The receptionist basically told me too leave. And the sales woman blanked me even after speaking to her 2 days earlier and arranging a test drive with her. Shocking customer service.
Oh dear! Good on you for calling out bad dealerships, no one should be spoken to like that. But Porsche reading! The cars in there, especially round the back. Glad the cars all fixed and sorted. Thank god for warranty!
Is just me or are you having no luck with the supercars from redline? Go check out acklam cars, my local dealer that I have just bought my 8th car in 4 years from, a few sweet supercars in stock and my facelift RS3 from Monday, but thanks for the honesty as always in your vids 👍
Why didn't you do a bit of shopping around for your tyres online?? Are they Michelin Pilot Sports? When I was working at Nova Victoria, there was a red Katari owned Porsche GT3 in the parking lot. Out of curiousity I made a note of its tyre spec. and did a search online for the price. I recall finding a price including vat and post of some £300.00 from a reputable tyre supplier. I was astonished at the price. You've taken it to another entirely new level..
That's not accurate about changing the tyres. As long as there is no more than 3mm difference in the tread of the old tyre and new you can replace one tyre. That is Porsche guidelines as well.
made no money on the warranty work, "found" nails in tyres. Man i miss working for a main dealer, ripping off customers. Service tech for a main dealer, had to make sales targets to get my monthly bonus. Lots of "nails" and lots of "wheels need alignment". Don't work in that industry anymore. Our manager used to tell us off and give us warnings if cars left without having gone for alignment etc because it's 100% profit.
