Just trying to be positive, i trully think that England will have a better chance at more attacking teams. I really feel like and this isn't just for this tournament, this has been an issue for a few years, England struggle against 11 defenders. But against better opposition there is more rooms through the middle as both teams are more spread out rather than all being in a single half. That's me obviously trying my best to look on the bright side of what has been a painful watch. Was encouraged when Mainoo, Palmer and Gordon came on though. Both Palmer and Gordon looking to run past players rather than play it back to defence. England have no width on the left side. THey get smothered in the middle of the field. Kane, Bellingham, & Foden all trying to play the same space in midfield. It's not rocket science. You either play with a left winger who's bread and butter is taking on right backs, or you force your left back to actually play attacking football. I think that means playing Joe Gomez above Trippier. But it could also look like playing Gordon at left wing. Of course, this would require a formation change, as the 4-2-3-1 has been laughable.
