I had a really bad seizure on April 18th. I usually always go like 5 days without a seizure every month then after not having one for that many I have a couple seizures. I also stopped taking carbamazepine medication completely. I also have been a little stressed lately. I just wish my seizures could be cured. Makes me sad and makes me feel so worried for the future.

I had seizures as baby from about 1 year to age of 4. Lucky i out grew out of them.I forget stuff all the time since i was kid. My dog has seizures 1 to 2 times a year . Thank God he doesn’t need medications. ❤

My daughter is taking the same medication than you but we add Magnesium and 100 mg fish oil, she had one or two seizures per week and now she has one or two each month. Search about the magnesium and fish oil.

Sorry to see you having another seizure. At least Corey was very calm (most people panicked when I had seizures). He really is a blessing. Thank you so much for all of your love and support! ❤ Tbh I think my seizures have been getting a lot worse and bigger because I’ve reduced my carbamazepine medication. I was better with smaller seizures while taking it before.

@@MyJourneyToBeSeizureFreemy cousin that lives in Alabama Sunday the 25th she had a seizure at the Atlanta airport before she got on the plane to come to the Indianapolis airport I’m feeling sorry for her because of her seizures and I know you have seizures as well when my cousin was younger she had a lot of seizures where they were worse like yours and she hasn’t had another seizure yet but she might have one

Hey, Ang! Sorry to see you still dealing with the seizures. But, I'm glad that you've got Corey at your side to help you through them. And, as far as the memory thing, I've had memory problems since my late childhood, probably related to a car accident I was in in 1989. In fact, that accident is probably also why I had to end up getting prescription eyeglasses when I was 10. I honestly, don't know if my memory will continue to get progressively worse. But, like everyone else here, I'm hoping you eventually reach your seizure-free goal.

Having seizures after a while definitely sucks! I’m so happy to see that Corey doesn’t freak out a lot! If people freak out around me once I’m postictal it freaks me out more lol! I’m hoping one day to get off of my oxarbazaepine but right now it’s the best thing for my partial seizures but it definitely effects my memory and coordination. Wishing you some seizure free days💚

Every time I watch your videos it’s like watching myself (from what people have told me) and when you describe what it’s like, how your auras feel, and memory loss of things that are upsetting that u can’t remember. I especially hate it when people are like “OMG do you remember when…” and I have to act like I remember because I don’t want them to know that I can’t remember what seems like something important events that others would never forget.

Angelique, this video hurt my heart. You seemed so tired, drained, and sad. Usually, you are cheerful and smiling. I know life isn't always sunshine and rainbows, but I saw how sad you look, and it's obvious the toll it's taking on you. I do have a bad memory. I don't forget things I've done, and I don't lose memories, but if someone gives me instructions or tells me to do something, it's like they didn't tell me at all. I have to ask what they told me within one or two minutes. It's embarrassing and frustrating. I don't know the reason that happens. I'll keep you in my prayers. That seizure was really a bad one. I'm glad Corey is able to remain so calm to help you through them.

I used to have bad seizures. I haven't had any since 2017 thank God you can't describe to anyone what they are like! Mum and dad used put something every cool on my forehead if that will help, wishing all the best! You describe it on the dot I'm 46 i can't hardly remember anything of my 20"s and 30's.

To answer your question about memory. Yes, my son had seizures from ages 4-8, he is 20 now, he is really bad with names & his short-term memory sux because of the meds & seizures. Prayers & love. So glad you have a good supportive ppl around you!

My husband has seizures and his memory is bad. I show him pictures of events to help him remember and that helps. I always try not to make him feel bad that he can’t remember things because sometimes he feels embarrassed about it. We try to see a little humor in it, like the movie, 50 First Dates. P.S. Hi from South Africa. My epilepsy is under control with lots of pills a day. The memory problems, exactly the same, I know how you feel. I hate the feeling. You can't explain to someone what you're going through with memory loss.😢 I think all the medication plays a huge part in our memory problems. But what can we do. We have a choice. Hi Ange, hope ur ok hon? Hope ya rested y'day afta ur Seizure. Ma Seizures are getin worse & more intense. I had a rely bad prolonged grand mal 2day & an Ambo was cald. Fellow epileptic here- the deja vu feeling might be a form of dissociation. Look up depersonalization/derealization and see if it resonates. I’ve been experiencing derealization since I was 14, always thought it was from anxiety/trauma (I think it still is) BUT I felt like that right before my first seizure last year at 26 which is kinda freaky. I've been having those "gross" feelings lately. Also tinnitus has gotten much worse suddenly. Started amitriptyline to help with sleeping through the night. Works well for and added bonus my restless leg is gone. I feel like I can totally relax for the first time in years. It's a very small dose as a sleep aid.

I take the same name medication with OX in front of it. I take 300 mg twice a day and it has helped me tremendously. My neurologist said I have "brain malfunctions". I get anxious and start yawning and cannot stop, then I have to go to bed and I can "sleep", not function, for up to 3 days. I can only go to the bathroom. I'm only telling you so maybe you can check in to it. This has been wonderful for me, I don't even have migraines anymore!! Peace to you!

Hi Ang, I was diagnosed with epilepsy from what I can recall back in 4th grade after a surgery I had for my shunt replacement from a spider bite. I do see a neurologist and neurosurgeon both but as of today. The only seizure I had was at that time. I had hydrocephalus when I was born and the shunt failed or got infected 2, 4 and 6 months. I'm actually taking carbemezipine too but time release. My memory from short term i think if I notice at work remember thing. At 38 though I'm doing well and shunt is draining. Prayers to you though.

I know what you mean when you say you would rather have a seizure then the deja vu yucky feeling. Takes every bit of energy out of you and makes you feel gross! I have short term memory problems because of the seizures. I’ve been hurt so many times from falling when having them. I tore my rotator cuff when falling once and had to have surgery. The memory part drives me crazy though because I’ll ask my husband something and he will tell me that he just told me but I forget easily. God bless you, praying that the seizures stop. ❤️

So sorry you have to go through this. As for memory, I think it’s between the seizures and the medication that makes short term memory so bad. It’s embarrassing sometimes. For medication, I took lamotrigine for a bit but it never gave me enough control. Have you ever been on keppra/levetiracetam? I had some success on that one until my body got used to it. Everyone’s different so you never know, but clobazam worked really well for the gross feelings/small episodes I had but it is a benzodiazepine and doctors here worry about dependency so they won’t prescribe it to you for a long time. I take Carbapazapine too, but it's my third seizure medicine and I'm happy with it so I'm going to keep taking it.

hello from Australia I think a sympton of epilepsy is memory loss but definately the amount of times we hit our head against hard surfaces the lack of oxygen to the brain during a seizure is unlikely to help and memory loss is likely to be a side effect of different medications Thankyou with prayers and love
