@bbgnate : ok, just wanted to fill everyone in that I had the AC compressor repaired by the dealership and it fixed the noise. So it turned out to be the AC compressor and NOT the supercharger! good luck! wish i wouldve known this sooner!
@YCgopi : mine didnt always sound like that--it gradually got worse. You can let it be for the time being, but sooner than later your AC compressor will need replacement.
timing (timing wheel have a manufacturing fault). The tensioner base and oil filter base has a valve that leaks. The symptom is the 3-second sound of the diesel engine.
the altenator clutch(pulley) has more than likely failed. this can take out the belt tensioner and/or the ac compressor. the pulley can be bought separate but often times is seized to the alt shaft. there is a dtb for this problem from Mercedes.
DID he ever confirm what was broke if anything? I just got one of these cars and it had dirty oil in it when purchased from overseas plus the dash menu says it was not serviced for 1086 days or at least that service menu wasnt updated BUT i did noticed some flakes of metal in my 1st oil change so i will be carefully monitoring this and may even change the oil early just to check it
@YCgopi : not at all man. thats why I thought it was the supercharger! The air blew cold and long. According to the dealership, the rotating components inside the air compressor were simply deteriorating, and, if left in its present condition, would have eventually led to failure. The whole replacement with labor and all ended up costing me about $1,200.
What was the sitation with this fly sound in the engine?did you find the solution? My 2012 mercedes w204 c180 is making the same noise in the morning. What do you think is the problem
@@tajemniczyuzytkownik5198 yea, firstly i replaced only pulley on A/C compressor, but it was inside AC (some bearing) sp then replaced whole A/C compressor and noise stoped :)
I had that sound dint pay attention and the transmission chain snapped and took the whole damn thing with it, needed valve kit, transmission kit, water pump. It was like 3K work :(
you must have never tried 2006 280 with new dohc v6. remember your probable m271 problem with timing chain? You get the same with all 4 camshafts and 1 ballance shaft gear. And you can't change it without dismatling most of the engine. Cost my father around 6 000 usd
I lost the quick acceleration when push on gas paddle. Sounds loud like that too when turns on the AC. like the engine is going to die. idle fluctuates up and down check engine lights is on. What is the main issue?
Crap... Just right now listening to the same sound on my 2005 w211... serviceman told me about belt tensioner pooley and already not ideal supercharger bearings... in addition to ac
Hi big problem---water has got into the tappet cover and made froth, engine oil in sump still black-condensation coming from where???replaced oil filter housing as well as oil cooler-still issue persists--HELP any one?
What noise are you talking about ? The "tectectec" or the "wuuuuuuuuuh" ? Because mine does this "wuuuuuuuh" at cold start but stop after few seconds. I have no ideia what can be.
I removed the silencer in the supercharger and i got this noice i think its the air sound or then i removed the silencer its was more clear i have a problem but it works perfect to be honest only this sound
sounds like play on the water pump cog bro mine sounded ecsactly the same and was the water pump on its way out.you could move the cog a little up and down
Well replaced tensioner thinking it would do the trick, but while gaining some nice power that was lost from tension loss, sound is still there....maybe even stronger than before. I'm starting to think it's a heat shield or something. Doubt it is supercharger bc my car is a rocket right now. Could just be that the car is idling really low and vibrates more than before, also engine cover is off. Don't know really.
Have this sound on my c32 amg after installing a smaller supercharger pulley. At first I was getting heavy belt slip. Got a new belt and slip is gone, but sound remains. Tensioner pulley? Looks to be bouncing a bit. I just don't get why it gets worse while turning the wheel, also only happens in drive and reverse at idle. Seems to go away while driving. SOMEONE PLEASE! Don't trust mechanics at all.
