Did you consider heat stroke? Destroys creatures at end of combat if they were blocked or blocked themselves, they're goaded feels like a mean way to ensure you're safe then you can remove it when you're ready
@TheCommanderTavern no worries, I was thinking of making the same deck idea and that's 1 of the 1s I ordered so I thought I'd suggest it. I'm drawing blank with protecting the background in red green though
I was wondering for a different deck, what your opinion is on caged sun (though viable here in cases where the background becomes out of reach manacost wise) I love the idea of it giving both plus 1/1 to all creatures i control and simultaniously doubling my mana only, but 6 mana investment for an artifact? im concerned it might be a win more card@@TheCommanderTavern
@@TheCommanderTavern I also had another idea for a support card, have you considered Anduril, Narsil Reforged? if you get 10 permenants you get the city's blessing for the rest of the game. put a plus 1/1 token on each creature when equipped creature attacks, if you have the city's blessing when you attack you get plus 2/2 . 2 colourless artifact equipment, 3 to equip
I run constant mists and a couple other fogs in my budget version of this deck. Having a fog is good when your commander dies or when your in one v one. I play less creatures and rely on my opponents to kill each other then I try to out tempo the last guy and go for a one shot kill with kessig wolf run or a similar effect.
I always thought investing in equipment to protect my commander felt clunky, so I decided to invest more in ramp. I'd rather just keep ramping throughout the game and recast my commander as necessary. Ramp, draw, damage multipliers and extra combats - a hefty land count - that's pretty much my deck. I was interested in Baeloth//Giants because they seemed like a self contained win condition. I struggle with open-ended decks. I wanted about as simple a gameplan as possible. Commanders a turn early and ever onward, win-more cards to suit, draw just to grease the gears a bit.
At least here, since you have two "commanders", protecting Baeloth means that you can just worry about recasting Raised by Giants multiple times in a game if it got destroyed multiple times, instead of *also* having to recast Baeloth multiple times in a game by protecting neither.
I just got a prerelease pack and I'm not sure which between Livaan Cultist of Tiamat, Gut True Soul Zealot, Viconia Drow Apostate, and Renari Merchant of Marvels that I'm going to build around
So I recently put these two cards as a commander team of a deck I had already. That deck was my Chishiro deck, which is built around +1/+1 counters and pump spells. Because I am able to pump baeloth up so quickly, I don't need to run the other goad cards. Just pump and protection. Branching evolution, with invigorating surge helps keep others goaded and draw cards equal to baeloth's power is a game ender with fury of the hordes. Heroic intervention and mage slayer are also must haves for the deck.
I'm lost; the decklist in the link in the description has 100 cards. (And yes, the remaining 12 cards are 6 Snow-Covered Mountain and 6 Snow-Covered Forest - which are shown in the decklist.)
