I never made Johnny cake, but my mom did. The way you made it was so simple, I must try it. I laughed every time you said baker. I miss hearing that. I've been in the United States for 22 years now everyone says oven.😁 I just made some chicken souse for my Husband and I ... can't wait to get into it. Thanks❗️😋
I love this video and I can't wait to make this tomorrow. I've been craving this for years, I always have it when visiting the Bahamas. Most visitors don't know about this delicious meal, but it is not to be missed when visiting the Bahamas. I'm so grateful that you shared your recipe!
Thank you for sharing. Especially the Johnny caķe recipe. It's simply, and quick. Cause I truly not a big fan of kneading bread. And thanks for posting what all is needed😁. Most don't do that😒
I love the way you took your time to show everyone how to bake a Johnny cake Chicken sauce because so many people do not know how to cook chicken sauce and Johnny cake
Thank you for sharing this video. I know how to cook the chicken souse, but I couldn't remember how to do the Johnny cake. I enjoyed watching this video. Thank you❤
Hi Ivan thank you so much for sharing your Johnny cake recipe with us, so simple. I have some questions for I need your help please let me know how I can reach you privately
I can't cook in a clustered kitchen. FOR JOHNNY CAKE: Better use FOUR cups of flour and 3/4 cups of sugar. Butter should have been a lot softer or even melted in the microwave for a smoother texture & easier mixing. Milk is not necessary. Don't want anything in my Johnny cake that can spoil. I just use one cup of water. Johnny cake is cracked because the butter was not soft enough and you didn't place the pan in the middle of the oven rack. It was too close to the door. Souse: You don't have to scald chicken if you initially cleaned it properly. Add onions & whole spice while boiling. Twenty (20 ) minutes later, add goat or red pepper, a quarter stick of butter & potatoes. Let boil for an additional 15 minutes. Then season with salt and lime. You season your souse AFTER its done. But nice effort. I kinda guessed you were abroad seeing the lemon juice & a few other seasonings Bahamians don't normally use. 💝
You can't be a Bahamian, you have to scald your chicken, you don't need butter, you season your souse after its done?????? Man you can't cook for me, that chicken have to be season!!!!!!!
