Thank you so much for the shout out. First I love the shirt. They should market your color scheme on that shotgun it looks that good. I was good until you shot slugs and it hurt😁. You proved you can bust clays with a short barrel. Thanks again
I love the ruggedness of these Baikal shotguns. I have an MP-220 SXS coach gun I bought long before the SHTF with a ban on Russian firearms. It has a bakelite buttplate and kicks like a damn mule, but I love shooting it. It has a lot of tooling marks on the unexposed surfaces like a lot of Russian made guns will. But it's tight and built like a tank, with a hard chromed bore for abuse.
That little shotgun is slick as a nickel. And I like the big old brass bead its a nice little single shot. And ill check out your buddys channel. And ill talk at ya later Buffalo
You probably mentioned the weight of this in the first video but it does look pretty light. The SS12 break action I have is about 3.5 lbs and is very unpleasant to shoot more than a few shots from.
It's always nice to see updates on firearms that we've seen before. It lets people know if you still utilize the shotgun and if it still is functioning well. Stays safe Buffalo.
I own a ATI NOMAD identical to this one. Why I love it? Here can shoot .30-30, 44 MAG, 10MM, 9MM, 454 CASULL, 45 COLT,12 GAUGE, need to say more. All with gun adapters. JUST love it.
That clinches it I'm buying a can of Aluma-Hyde II. I have couple plastic stocks that would look nice with some color. Your shotgun looks nice with your color combination. I admire the simplicity of this style of shotgun. So easy to breakdown and clean. Really like the gun gives the shooter a choice of ejection or extractor. As Ed Sullivan said " we have a really big shew".
I've got a Rossi single shot 12ga. that I cut down, that thing is absolutely brutal on the shoulder when shooting buck shot. It's a hand full with plain bird shot, but I used to use it a lot for snake defense while checking trail cameras in the summertime.
I bought one of these NIB about 7 or 8 years ago for $90, after taxes and the FFL fee I had $125 in it. I have put hundreds of shells thru it and it is still going strong. It's perfect for a yard gun. I wish I would have gotten one in 20 gauge too
Picked up an ATI Nomad in 20 gauge in camo for granddaughter. She loves it because it folds & throws a tight pattern. Short barrel is good with right choke. 🦃 time
I own a couple of old H&R Toppers with the exposed hammer, and set up just like that except 20 inch BBL. Really a lot of fun with those little 2" shells. Great for hand tossed targets, but not such sharp recoil (no pads on mine, just factory but-plates). The Baikal really made a lot of improvements to that old design. Too bad they aren't available near me. Thanks for the follow up!
Hi Buffalo I have owned Baikals for years side by sids over unders and single shots have never had a problem with any of them . I like that they can be uncocked with out having to dry fire them thanks for the video
A couple of us did a 10 guns in 10 days challenge recently. Three of my videos were of single shot break action shotguns and a rifle. I love 'em. Great video Buffalo!
Son, we love ya up here in Virginia. At 70 yrs old my old 870 tends to hurt me more than give me pleasure. lol Y'all be safe down there and get ready! It's comin.
You know you're dealing with an honest man when he calls a dump a dump. Still got my sawed off Stevens 12 from when I was a kid and it's still a literal blast to shoot stuff with. Thanks, good times for honest people.
Very interesting to find this video. I recently inherited a Baikal IJ-18E Shotgun from my father that he bought when he just got out of school back in the day. It says made in the USSR on the receiver. What is really interesting is how similar it looks and functions to the MP-18, only difference being the fore-end and the stock being wood
I want a side by side in 18". Used to the Stoeger Coachguns were everywhere now nobody has one. Oh well, at least now in Texas ammo is in stock and getting cheaper by the day.
@@chevyon37s I'm sure your right..I would have thought that greed would win out and retailers would be fighting for ammo where they can profit the most
great video. my only few shotguns are singles. 20ga and 410 autoejectors only. all used for $100ish that i cleaned up. i got rid of my 12ga, too punishing to be fun and 20ga is almost as potent yet softer on my shoulder, especially with a recoil pad. a 20” 20ga h&r with a buttsleeve of #5 gameshot lies under my bed. i sleep well.
That's a neat shotgun, I like the way it breaks open with that lever. I have a single shot Pointer shotgun that I thought about shortening the barrel to 18-1/2 inches
Ha!!! I like the t-shirt. You should have some made up with a Buffalo standing on his hind legs playing a banjo. With “Buffalo OutDoors” at the bottom. 😁👍
Great job Buffalo. That shotgun looks mighty good to me. I don't think it's my place to tell someone else how to set up their gun. You seem to shoot it really well .👍👍
The best firearm to start learning about shooting is a single barrel shotgun. It is the simplest gun there is to learn using. It teaches all the basic rules of using a firearm. It makes you take careful aim because you only have one chance to hit your target. It teaches you to not to shoot at distances that are past the limit of your firearm. You learn about gun safety, trigger control, sight alignment, and effects of recoil. You will miss your target if you don’t do all the steps important to not missing. Most of all it saves ammo because it gives you more time to think about why you missed or didn’t. Likely there would be no ammo shortages if shooters shot less and practiced more realistically using single shot firearms. Shooting fast is only important if you hit your target. You have to learn that first. The better shot you are; the less important having guns that hold a box shells become.🐃👏
I am so jealous of your nice little range you got there even got a little stream flowing by all's I need is a crapper and I could live there! Thanks for the video very nice. PS: I like the short style gun did it to plenty of mine thru the yrs.
Marvelous! Thank you for doing this video. Obviously in good hands like Buffalo's a single shot shotgun can do anything a utlity gun is supposed to do. Buffalo clearly shows one can take game on the wing, use slugs for more serious business, etc. With appropriate inserts one can add other calibres too, eg .22 LR. Baikals are also very popular in many countries in Asia. I am from South Africa and many folks over here probably could have used one of these last week as a last-ditch defensive tool. And this will shoot less-lethal ammo like rubber bullets too without any modification to the gun. (Maybe someone can design a more aerodynamic less-lethal rubber bullet, perhaps a diablo shape, and ask the Taofledermaus team to test it. Round baton rounds are not very accurate and often hit unintended targets). Excellent shooting on the clays.
i like short barrel single shot shotguns got one in 20 gauge carried it a lot frog giging there was a pond we would go to that had more water moccasins than frogs so that little shotgun came in handy
Cool setup ! What about the choke ? Full choke before mod, no choke now. Noticable differences with shotshells / slugs ? And why did you refinish the black parts ?
I did the same on one of my 12 ga, cut the barrel to 18.25" for a camp gun, all around gun. I kept the long barrel on my H&R single shot 12 for the Cut Shell's, perfect for that, long range and accuracy 👌. Looks like the Russians did a good job on that one.
thats a great shotgun id love one like that ive never seen a bakail in person yet but great news ruger sending a replacement for my dads sr22 so he gets a gun that hopefully wont blow up again
Showing a little wear especially on a utility gun is no big deal at all to me either. Just shows it has been used and enjoyed. BTW I love shooting odd ball stuff like that and using a shotgun makes it just that much more awesome.
