I have been working on building bait tanks with filters and aerators the last few years. I have been asked a few times to explain the filters. I have a page on Facebook that I post videos. Bait Tanks Homemade and modified.
I have a keepalive tank and am fairly new to all this. I am wanting to build a filter similar to this for my tank, and I was thinking of having it pull from the top over the filters. I have read that pulling from the bottom is better if you catch your own bait since all the crap and crud will sink to the bottom, but I buy my Herring from a bait shop, and just really need something to filter out the scales. Do you think pulling from the top would do what I need? Thanks
Sorry did not see this comment . As the pump runs it pushes the water out of the tube. The stand pipe is below the water level so allows water to flow into the tube to equalize the water level
