Yea I know but having vents on the enclosed carrier would then defeat the purpose of having an enclosed carrier because dirt and sand can now get inside. Plus if you wanted to have an open carrier they already sell metal carriers that are open, that way you wouldn't have to machine.
Hi man Quick question my friend Most of the screws I have when I lock them and start playing and after a while I can't open them why is that? I don't use any grease Is it because of this???
Great video, just watch your bearing on the enclosed carrier. They don't last long cause of the heat that get's trapped inside the clutch and cause them to were pretty fast. I'm going to be machining mine to it has some vents to let the heat out.......
is this a genuine hpi? cause usually on the gear cover it will say hpi racing if it is hpi rovans and king motors dont have the hpi logo anywhere. how big is the motor on this one? cheers love the channel cant wait to see more of ldc 2
gundorethemighty Around $55 off Daves Motors. Don't think they carry this exact one anymore but they have similar one that'll do just as good. www.davesmotors.com/billet-enclosed-clutch-drum-carrier-for-hpi-baja-5b-5t-5sc.html
thanks bro i have the rovan termator baja truck love it wish i had another lol i got the redcat rampage mt pro in the mail looking forward to it funny thing is i like my rovan termator more then my hpi 5t
+gundorethemighty Rovans/ Kingmotors are usually frowned upon for being "clones" but who cares they are way cheaper and once you fix everything that is wrong with it it will still be cheaper and way better then buying a shitty hpi anyway.
People say they don't have heat issue with the enclosed carrier and they also say it will really only overheat if you keep slipping the clutch repeatedly. So basically if you drive the car like a normal person it'll be fine. Also sand can destroy a clutch within a tank of driving while with an enclosed carrier you can drive all day long with no issues. If your still concerned, if you only drive on the street and grass you don't need the enclosed carrier. Hope that helps,
Thanks, live in Wildwood NJ and its a beach Baja.. think ive broken every stock part already (front shock braces and tower today) and replaced them... Clutch and gears next. any advice on complete clutch systems? trying to make buggy as strong as possible
saveourcountry1776 The go-to for complete clutch systems is Turtle Racing. They have complete clutch systems available with great reviews and reputation. "Turtle Racing's Complete Clutch System" is a little on the expensive side so if you only want the enclosed housing (the part in this video) you can go with either a Daves Motors or TeamGoNads, which is what I have. Hope that helps,
I know about the aluminum one's, but i'm going to have holes on the under side of it so if anything does get into it, it will be able to get back out...........
