Baja Designs Rock Light Kit Install On Tacoma With Prinsu Racks

In this video, I install Baja Designs Rock Light Kit on my 3rd Gen Tacoma with the Prinsu Cab Rack and Top Rack. These small lights are usually mounted in the wheel well of trucks to illuminate the ground but I decided to mount them to my roof rack for some extra lighting while camping and driving off road. I bought red LEDs because I thought red would be a good color to set the mood while having dinner with my fiancé (the red is also supposed to help keep bugs away which is a huge plus during camping). Why wouldn't you use thier handle bracket so it's not such a hillbilly install and they're angled downward. I guess some leds aren't very bright.

Great question! I installed these rock lights to my roof rack before they came out with the handles. Also I didn’t mind saving the money and just using zip ties.

Caution: Dome Light w/ Switch can get very hot when used for long periods of time. Please use caution when handling or installing. do they get hot?

Baja designs sends kit with zip ties. If you want buy the prinsu handle that has mounting points for Baja designs rock light kit.

Was the backing plate curved for roll bars? Or is it flat? I was expecting some drilling holes and wiring like a real install. Showing the final.install would be nice also like showing the lights on and a walk around. Its cool you tried.

Does that rubber backing piece with the channels for the zip ties come with the kit? I can't tell if you added those or if they came from Baja with them..?

I bought 4 of these but it didn’t come with wiring harness. Whats the part number of the wiring harness, where did you order and how much?

same. Nowhere on the Prinsu website does it say you need it and when I received it and had no harness, I called and they were just like oh sorry our site doesn't mention that, you have to get it on the Baja website.

I’m pretty sure that these are not RGBs because you choose the color when buying. Amber, blue, green, red, or white.

It comes with zip ties and also small nuts and bolts to use to mount to almost anything. The nuts and bolts were too small for the prinsu racks. But they would work in the wheel well great!!!

The rubber backing it to attach the rock light on then to a bar, mostly roll bars or such not to zip tie on flat surface with it. Take yr time drill the two holes for each light and mount it the right way.
