Dominar is too impressive for its price. Rivals 400CC bikes in quality and specifications but for the price of 200-250cc bike's price. Its definitely a better buy.
yeah,illiterate people buy bajaj as they don't have knowledge of automobiles,they are not trying to think that its impossible to make 373cc in that prize which bajaj is offering,unless and until they had used poor quality component into engine

Excellent Video Vikas and this video along with your review makes more sense because you own and have driven the KTM 390 .. Obviously no bike in this world is perfect but views depend on a overall driving conditions specially on Indian Roads.. It has been noticed that though Bajaj brings most of its bikes on the platforms of KTM's but Bajaj bikes are more practical and suited for Indian City riding... Excellent video and looking up for more relevant videos
Isn't the Dominar technically a power-cruiser, despite it's naked sport looks? So, a comparison on comfort, efficiency and "smoothness" would mean that the Dominar would win. On the other hand, if we look at the sporty, powerful and fast spectrum of things, the Duke still wins. A comparison isn't really fair. They're for very different kinds of people.
Yatharth Moza Well ya ... but u can't just straight away compare The Dominar to the R.E bikes as they are "Cruiser's", with no sport in them...... The closest you can get to a "sport cruiser" (in India) is the Duke 390.... so I feel that the comparison is somewhat fare..... Good Job Vikas 👌
yes buddy Japanese products are reliable..but how many caN afford?? 4.10 lakh for Yamaha r3 in my state, why should i pay that much for a quarter litre bike?? and also maintenance cost ll be higher.
And do you think that an R3 customer or an Ninja 300 customer can be converted to D400 customer?? well I think no... the customers who ll be interested to check out D400 will be.. Duke 390.. Mahendra mojo Rs 200 and to some extent Royal Enfield350 range and himalayan.

When I walked in for a TD they had a dedicated Dominar engineer. A fresh college passout who knew about bikes...It was a welcome change. They plan to offer differential treatment for Dominar during regular services as well. (atleast that what he claims, not sure how far they can keep doing that) Pros: Pricing is a steal; ABS option gives you confidence; very comfortable riding position; lights are amazing; like the exhaust note; i am upgrading from a FZ 150 so pick is kickass Cons: Tank capacity for being marketed as tourer is less; Turning radius is long (had difficulty turning in short corners); Very Heavy. I use my bike for daily commute and at times need to pull the bike out of different parking spots ...will have difficulty with the Dominar Pickup isnt immediate but gradual. For a 400 cc segment, it could have been better I was sitting on the pillion for sometime and could feel some vibrations at low speeds...Not sure if that is usual No reserve fuel capacity, I get the point that it is fuel injected and all, however I personally would like to have the comfort of knowing when my bike will be on reserve. (not a deal breaker) Long story short, I booked the Dominar for its value for money and I am not going to use this bike for racing/not looking for over the top performance.
I don't think if he didn't like the bike, he would have bought it! Pros and cons of the two are not in same league, though engine capacity is similar! Duke for pure fun, Dominar for controlled fun! Duke best for track or open roads, definitely not to chokacblok city traffic, Dominar is comfortable in both... As for paid reviews, i think we are all smart enough and informed about all the bikes in the world, so nobody can really BS. All comes down to personal preference and budget. Happy And Safe Riding! Btw, I am happy with my Gixxer, but considering Abs variant of Dominar and Intruder. Maybe, Dominar will win me over.
so only worst part about dominar is that it is bajaj. And i don't know about after sales service but bajaj bike's spare parts are easily available compare to any other brand and its also cheaper compare to others. I have honda bike and getting spare part of honda is very difficult and also costly and honda after sales service is not good either. So exactly what is wrong with dominar and bajaj service.Please explain in detail
rohit prasad all bikes have pros and cons we will find flaws in dominar also but as previous owner of P220 & NS i can say domainar is more value for money & practical then duke
Dominar is the best bike as compare to Duke sounds like Auto, Dominar hs beauty of looks, exhaust, n the tank capacity is of 12/13 liter I guess so Sir Dominar is a Sports Cruiser, N best ever Duke is 👎 nice review sir
Amazing video, loved all the points made, this video describes the pains of an everyday rider.. All the points made are practical and real life, the upside down fork is something which I had never imagined.. I'm buying a dominar 400 soon, I've made the right choice, thanks for cementing my decision
One of the great review and Vikas, you are a great reviewer. You had every possible reason to be biased as you own KTM, but you were too rational in throughout the review. On the review front, it was not only informative but you put lot of light on technicalities which common user may not think of. Also you being a pro-rider, you know much more about bikes characteristics and dynamics and you poured in all your knowledge in this review.....would love to see more from you. The oilseal dust issue mentioned here is quite true. I recently face that problem out of the blue in my duke 390. But now I know the reason. Nice video

The best review i have seen in a long time. Most of other reviews are biased. You were unbiased even though you own the KTM. I was a big fan of KTM but since I will be using it only for day-to-day commute, KTM is not practical for me. Decision made.

he was wrong about refueling on long rides every 150kms . i stay in mumbai where traffic is pathetic in 8ltrs of fuel i travel close to 195 to 210. on highway it gave me mileage of 32 & refuled my bike @ 260. being high torque & compression it gives so much. 220 gives 20-25 max my brother is pissed with his 220
Yea like if your bike sounds like the moaning of mia khalifa😂, it's called thumper like exhaust note not some kind of rickshaw idiot, now that with the bs6 the exhaust is completely different and refined, people were craving for the older exhaust note, now shoo go off, 🤡.
@thuhin ajay maybe they did...you never know..see there can be two possibilities ...either he was ovewhelmed for being invited by bajaj and so the points are all positive about the bike or he got paid...it's not an insult..just a normal thing...anyone would do that if you get paid or you attached to the company in a special way..

Duke390 is mainly built for performance.. No comfort! So people seeking comfort will get DOMINAR. And Dominar is in same league with KAWASAKI Z250 and Benelli TNT300 in performance. So its not at all underpowered.

2017 Duke will Destroy the Dominar ..and Mr Vikas why don't tell that KTM after getting complaints about alloy wheels started using stronger alloys on their bikes .Also i cannot believe that u critised the Duke's cluster which has got tons of information than Dominar . Abhijeet Chauhan you are really an idiot he said upside down forks are better than telescopic forks but only in a clean environment and INDIAN ROADS are not that clean also if you want to do a adventure trip telescopic forks are preferred because you might cross through dirty and slushy roads and hence Mr Chauhan I request you not to make fool of yourself by giving such comments. And let me tell you one thing BMW GS1200 ADVENTURE uses telescopic fork since it is made for adventure and not for racing.

i would like to point out that my 390 shredded out those MRF Revzz in less than 5000KM and were really poor traction wise. One of my worst decisions ever. But your review was a very comprehensive and unbiased one. Good job bro and keep up the good work.

After watching this video I felt proud being Indian. Only Indian company can understand the Indian needs and conditions, the way It has designed and technicalised in terms of everything, I am amazed by its performance and awestruck by its looks. I was a great fan of Duke 390 but it's like a desi buttery food, which is coming at almost half the price. Very informative video, can only be explained well by true Indian itself(hehe m also from Andra). Thanks sir for giving honest and informative review

But as a passionate and True biker, you have mentioned absolute Facts in this comparison. Salute you for that.. :) For USD forks part, i also think that the Oil pressure that will be building up will be more in USD which will eventually lead to early failure of seals when compared to Normal ones. But one awesome comparison man... Liked it.. You have not shown any partiality in any department towards your bike..!! Thats great.. Thumbs up..!!!!!! And Finally you can add a word saying,.. Even considering the release of Duke 2017.. It may not be compared with FE, Seating comfort as well as for Pillion, Touring capability, Normal City commuting, Reliability(May be in Alloys) and of-course Real world VFM..!!
