Un après-midi de traitement photo condensé en 8 minutes. Blek ne se termine pas en rentrant à la maison pour nous autres photographes !
Les photos finales devraient se trouver quelque part sur le site web du Club Photo EPFL ( photo.epfl.ch ).
Mon workflow pour cet événement:
1. Sélectionner les photos qui attirent mon attention
2. (Facultatif) Deuxième sélection parmi les lauréats du premier tri pour garder les "meilleurs"
3. Traitement/Développement: cadrage d'abord, puis luminosité. Je booste généralement le contraste des tons moyens ("Clarity") pour faire croir---- pour renforcer l'impression de netteté. Je renforce également les noirs pour ne pas avoir un aspect délavé. Léger vignettage pour focaliser l'attention sur le centre de la photo (pas nécessaire pour toute les photos).
Je découvre cette année la puissance du format Cinemascope (2.39:1), c'est fun.
Aussi, FTAGH R'LYEH YOU!! les ingé lumières de Worakls. Les grosses lumières BLEUES ET ROUGES ne rendent pas notre travail facile. Mais c'est notre boulot de faire de notre mieux...

An afternoon of photo processing condensed into 8 minutes. Balélec Festival doesn't end when we come home for us photographer !
The finals photo should be published somewhere on the EPFL Photoclub ( photo.epfl.ch ).
My workflow for this event:
1. Choose the eye-catching picture first
2. (Optional) Do a second selection to keep only the "best of the best"
3. Development: I do framing first, then adjust the lights. I generally boost the midtone contrast (that's what the Clarity slider do) to fool everyo--- to reinforce the feeling of sharpness. I reinforce the black in order to not have a washed out feeling. I also add (not on all photo, it depends) some vignetting to focus the attention of the viewer toward the center.
My discovery this year in the usage of the Cinemascope aspect ratio (2.39:1). It's plenty fun.
Also, FTAGH R'LYEH YOU, lights people from Worakls. The huge BLUE AND RED lights is not making our work easier. It's our job to improvise and work with what we have, but still...
