Awesome tutorial I'm not sure why Ronin gimbal users complained so much that the crane 3 is so hard to balance you seem to make it so easy and well explained thank you
because it is horribly difficult to balance and you have to fix the shitty locking plate with a screwdriver before its usable. as someone who owns this gimbal for work. avoid it at literally all cost.
In the world of cool videos and unreal transitions, I liked and downloaded your video by the sheer value of information. I absolutely love your video. I will make sure to subscribe and watch all your other videos.
Hi guys remember if your gimbal gives you the overheat signal on the lcd screen on the handle, it may not be balances properly. Please switch it off and re balance it.
Hello my dear friends thank you so much. Ooooh i also want the M2 bit it is not available here yet. I love the smaller cameras. I have the Canon M50 to sub my D850 and D750 nikon big boys. Thanks so much for watching have a wonderful week.
Hi Jaolong thank you. It should be oerfect with 1Dx2 i dont personally own one but most canons work with this gimbal. There is also a compatibility sheet on Zhiyun websit which will help you quite a bit
Dear Lady, you should LOCK the other 2 axle motors when you are balancing the first one. As I see, the gimbal is pre-balanced. Otherwise, it is impossible for the gimbal to stay in such a balanced position when adjusting just the first axle (forward) balance with all other Unbalanced axles being freely unlocked.
Hi Violet, I noticed you're using a Nikon d750, int hte manual of the Zhiyun Crane 3 it only shows that it's compatible on the Nikon d850, I'm planning to get an upgrade on my current camera (Nikon d600) just to get to use it with Zhiyun Crane 3, do you think its ok with the d750? It clearly works well with it, why they say it only works with d850? Thank you!
Hi there, well it works with the D750 but it does not connect to the D750 so you cant co trol Zoom and focus through the gimbal. But you can put any camera on the gimbal and you will have stable footage. You just cant control the camera settings or start stop recordings from the gimbal. You have to do that all manually.
Great video! I wish I had a video like this with my camera gimbell. The little details you mention are invaluable. Now ... Just want to see future movies xx
Hi there you will need to re balance it again and after doing so, tilt it to the left and tilt it to the right. The camera should not move. Then switch it on. 👌
And your gimbal is switched off when you do the balancing ? You will have to keep moving and shifting the arms into the right position until the camera stays put. Then tilt it and it must not move. Then switch on. Let me know how it went.
Thats weird, it must swing to face away from you. Are you sure the arms are setup correctly and the camera facing the right way before you switch it on?
Hi there if you want to take photos of people close up the a 50mm or 85mm lens is always the way to go. But i suppose you wa t to take photos of your woodwork, then i would look at a 100 mm macro lens if you dont need a wide angle, or a 24mm macro lens if you want a wide angle lens. But you will need to use the lens adapter since the M series doesnt have a large variety of lenses available yet. If there are any videos you would like to see please let me know. Thank you for the support.
Violet Henning Well, actually no. Haha! I’d like to do to like....landscaping, scenery or my wife kind of photography. I have a lens that zooms in ok, but when it’s really close, it refuses to take the photo. My guess it’s because it’s not totally in focus? Maybe a video about micro photography or scenery photography? I’d be interested in those. Thanks!!!
Thank you for the comment. Okay I will do a video for you soon. If you refer to landscape then you need a wide angle lens. If you want to photograph kids you will need a zoom lens so you can be close or further away and dont run yourself to death. The main reason a lens dont want to focus is firstly the focal distance of that lens, and secondly, yes you guessed it... Light. Some lenses dont have a very low aperture and is therefore not so good in low light. But i will put a video together on it.
Violet Henning I see!! Yes, more like landscape, people kind of photography. I have so many more questions, but I will drop them little by little! Thanks!!
Hi there, you need to check one of the cables that came with the gimbal that fits in your camera. I dont have a D850 so i dont know which one works on it sorry buddy.
Thank you for your response. I received a response from Zhiyun and the cable they suggested doesn't come with the Crane 3 Lab, but is a cable in the Crane 2. However, they did provide a picture, which should help me. Once I get the Nikon D850 configured with the Crane 3 Lab, I'll post back with an update.
I am happy to report that the Nikon D850 works just fine on the Crane 3 Lab! The Crane 3 Lab comes with a HDMI Mini to HDMI Mini and a USB 3.0 (Micro-A two part plug) to USB Micro cable. The HDMI Mini to HDMI Mini will work for the data connector, and the USB 3.0 to USB Micro will work for the Camera Control. Use the USB 3.0 connector in the Camera Control's USB 3.0 port, and the cable's USB Micro connector in the Nikon D850's USB Micro portion of the USB 3.0's two part port.
Hi buddy yes the crane 3 can do all of that. But my nikon d750 doeant allow it. When i uograde to the Z6 nikon it will. For now i can control the zoom and focus at least.
Biggest fraud of company, I bought this camera to notice that it has very little camera support. Later I upgraded to Canon Eos R5 and find out that the camera is not supported. Ans when contacting the support they have informed me to buy new model. So basically they ask you to buy new crane everytime you change your camera body, instead of upgrading the firmware. Avoid this company for lack of future upgrades
Hey Victor i feel your pain. To use the full capacity of this gimbal you need to have one of the cameras on its support system. They have spec sheets and support sheets on their website to see which cameras work fully on the gimbal. I have a D750 Nikon and can also only use the gimbal to stabilize my video but cannot connect the camera for all the functions. I would have made 100's of videos about it if my camera worked as it should.
