Excellent choice of rests, I've been shooting it for many years and it's a great bang for the buck.

I have the cast iron slingshot and a couple of Bald Eagle front bags. Have used Protektor and a couple of other brands too. If they don’t have the holes, I just use the 4-hole straps to hold them down. I’m a right handed shooter and moved the windage knob the left side of the plate. It is now direct drive. No more sloppy cable.

I was always wondering about that rest. It’s looks awesome. I remember seeing a good looking single stage press from bald eagle/ grizzly but when I got around to it, it was no longer made.

Bare in mind a Seb or T-Rex front rest both are north of $1800 If they were anywhere near $1k I's own one. I have owned this exact rest for 6-7 years and did do the windage mod he speaks of and it is a VERY low cost easy to do major improvement I feel is an absolute must do. Before that I had a Caldwell The Rock windage front rest and the Bald eagle is better and worth the additional $$$. My single biggest complaint about the bald eagle rest is it doesn't adjust and transition very smoothly, predictably, or consistently repeatable in either the vertical or horizontal planes, I shoot in ARA and NRL22lr bench shots where we shoot at 25 individual bulls eyes on cards at 50 yards. The 10x is a dot that is smaller than am actual 22lr bullet and you shoot then move to the next bulls eye. When I adjust the Bald eagle rest I'm all over the target and it requires a lot of additional rest fine tuning adjustments to get the target dot of my scope on target and the matches are timed and all the additional rest adjustment gets to be a bothersome distraction one must learn to not allow to affect your concentration while shooting. For WHAT IT COST and used as a GP bench rest shooting my HP/CF rifles at 100-1k yards it works great and I am very satisfied with it in that application. But for my competitive 22lr match shoots I am definitely looking for something better in a front rest.

I have an iron one without the windage adj that is about 35yrs old or so, the vertical screw threads are bunged in one spot, but, it still has enough adjustment to be useful. I use Hoppes bags that are 40 yrs old. They work.

I have this same rest and use that same Forend adapter on my Sav 12LRP with the 3in bag. For the price it has been a great Rest. Adjustment cable is a little finicky but not too bad ! I also use a 3in Forend adapter that attaches to picatinny rails for other guns.

I bought one of these in cast iron last week for $164 @ grizzly. I really like the unit... although it does take some time to get used to all of the adjustments. Windage definitely needs some improvement. But once you get everything dialed in, its a great little shooting rest. I was considering this unit, the Sinclair Comp. rest, & the SEB Rest and decided to try this out for the price. If I end up not liking it, I can move on to one of the others. Great video!

I have the cast iron sling shot model and found it useless until I did the modification and ditched the stupid cable. I could shoot much better with an Atlas bipod and rear squeeze bag. I now use the rear foot for the final elevation adjustments.

Spotting scope review or advice you can provide? I have a Konus I’m going to replace in the near future. It has max magnification of X60 but objectives look the same size as objection in my rifle scope as on X25 magnification.

I’m so out of shape I can’t shoot off hand anymore so I shoot on a bench and shoot off a bipod I’d like to have a certain degree of difficulty to overcome I think using the rest like that it’s a well obviously this is not my bag

No need to say your rest isn't a SEB; I believe most of us are aware of that, jk. I'd love to own a SEB but the one I want costs $2,200.00 But the finest in the world doesn't come cheap.

What's a "teflon" rod? I know you meant nylon. :) Kidding aside. I use a Caldwell Rock with the pegs adjustments like yours, and a contraption on the rear, I mounted a rear bag on a lab instrument platform, so I can also fine tune the rear bag.

cs_yt , you know there is such a thing as Teflon right.

It's not nylon either. It's UHMW.
