That gives me an idea for next tabletop campaign, when there is a situation where someone will have to sacrifice themself i will try to convince gm behind the scenes to make them somehow survive and others to start gaslighting them by acting like they are dead...
Player - "Thank you, Gale. We'll never forget you." Shadowheart - "I'll pray for you everyday." Karlach - "Such a brave soul. Gone." Player - "Say goodbye to Gale, Gale." Gale - "Goodbye, Gale."
I can only imagine, this is a bug or they took out some secret scene, was in that game before. Wouldn’t be the first time But i got a totally different ending. A way better one ❤
So let me gets this straight. Gale chooses to sacrifice himself to destroy the netherbrain, says his goodbyes, blows up, and then COMES BACK to say that he’s leaving and says goodbye AGAIN. Truly a Gale of all time.
@@DrGrimReaperGaming No, the line should be: "I got better." You know, quote from a certain peasent: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zrzMhU_4m-g.html
As a master Wizard in the [Arts of Illusion], Gale's illusory projection of him exploding was of such a high spell save DC, that even the Elder Brain thought it was real, and died along with all the tadpoles and mind flayers as a result.
He said "It's Orbin' time" and then Gale'd all over the cosmic horror gigabrain. Truly a moment in Baldur's Gate 3 and one of the moments in gaming history.
He has an astral projection set out for when he dies, the guy was probably lvl 20 some time ago but lost all his levels to Mistra that drained them and then he had to rebuild his rep by himself
Everyone in the party, "Gale will always be remembered." Gale, "Hello everyone. Did I miss anything?" Karlach, "Fucking Hells!" Jaheira, "Great. He's a zombie." Minsc, "Minsc does not understand?" Boo, "Squeak." Lae'zel, "Abomination!" Wyll, "How?." Astarion, "Well, isn't this a surprise." Shadowheart, "Impossible!" Halsin, "By Silvanus!" Minthara, "Praise the Spider-Queen!" Withers, "How curious." Tav, "You used the Scroll of True Ressurection didn't you."
Had a similar issue with the ending. I made karlach a mindflayer and for some reason the game thought my paladin had turned into one. Even got the steam achivement for the mindflayer ending. Great game but act 3 is beyond bugged it seems
I believe I had the exact same bug, I got the end scene where I spoke to the Mind flayer Karlach, but before that the game thought that I was the mind flayer, and I agree it is a great game but I don't think just act 3 is beyond bugged it's the whole game.
@@serronserron1320 I agree. I do feel there are too many bugs and glitches in the game, but believe Larian have such a love for the game that they will fix things eventually.
Considering that it seems you originally went for the evil ending with him when discussing the crown, I like to imagine that the Gale that went up there and sacrificed himself was the remaining good in him.
💯Agree, even though it wasn't my intention to turn him evil, only for him to stand up for himself against Mystra. Looking back I should have realised this would have taken him down an evil path but I still feel this is a satisfying ending for this particular character's arc.
@@DrGrimReaperGamingYeah, I talked him into defying Mystra but i didnt let that guys ego take one step too far. Ironically, I tried to get him to take the crown after it fell into the chionthar and he refused
@@Theology.101 That is really cool to hear as that's one ending I didn't get to experience. You obviously have to choose your words carefully to get that ending.
@@DrGrimReaperGamingthe same thing happened to me I didn’t realize what I had done until we were at the nether brain and he was like you talked me into this and I had a record scratch moment lol
It's crazy isn't it. I'm not sure how Larian could have missed this especially considering the amount of testing the game was subjected to (did you see the amount of game testers they used, in the credits?)
Gale pulling a full on Joseph Joestar and just showing up after being in 100% chance of death situation and being like “so what’s everyone talking about?”
I saw the title of this video and though that there was a bit after he dies to blowing himself up where Mystra brings him back to life after what he did. Funnily enough, Gale also has this weird bug for me where if I talk to Elminster for the first time without Gale in my party, Elminster will give me dialogue asking if I know Gale but then when the camera pans to my character, guess who is always standing right next to me? Gale, for some weird reason or another. I have no clue what that bug is about and the buginess of this wizard is something I think about often.
ah now i know how it looks like when our/someone's characters died in a table campaign story its not gale , its gale's brother or family or friends or something GM : and with that happen i introduce to you gale's brother , come to replace his story once again
when a vision of the chosen of the dead 3 said gortash was young and handsom, this is what he should've looked like, seeing how good gale looks in Gortash's robe...
It's the Absolute showing you the image of Gortash so my head cannon is that he's making it portray him better looking. But god, he looks like a guy in his late 40s who hangs out at Hot Topic hitting on the cashiers. I can only assume there was a character redesign or he looks very like whoever designed him.
I think there's a plot hole here - Gale teleported the party away who had the artifact, so he should've been instantly dominated and transformed by the netherbrain.
Gale is so powerful that not even a explosion powerful enough to incinerate a whole Netherbrain (or castle) can kill him. Guess what we saw was only 1% of his true power.
Tav: Gale sacrificed himself to save us all. Gale: Please stop telling them I'm dead! Tav: I can sometimes still hear his voice. Gale: I'm right here, stop ignoring me!
I had never given this a thought, but you're 100% right. Why would Gale blowing himself up in Act 3 destroy the Tadpoles yet in Act 2 it causes them to mutate?
If minthara is a around at the ending where Gale uses the orb, she'll rejoice and say how pitiful gale is smart he was for doing the only thing was good for 😭
Gale had a habit of just showing up in cutscenes talking about him for us too. He was at camp when we met Elminster, who asked "Do you guys fw gale?" and Gale is just *there*.
The whole game was buggy for me and at Act 3 I just took it in stride as I was done with the constant issues and I agree, with the ending I found it rather disappointing, they spoke about how there's 17,000 endings which I doubt but could be true, but as you say it took me out of the experience when the game just ended with no epilogues for anyone so we don't know what the consequences our actions hold. So how can there be 17,000 endings if we can't really see them. This game still feels in early access and we're the beta testers.
The brain did not give the order for the tadpoles to cease. In both cases i'm wondering if that means that a bunch of people just has a dead, rotting worm in their skulls and what fabulous terminal illnesses that could spawn xd
I hadn't actually thought about that, it's a really good point but I'm sure somebody would explain/make an excuse that since they were magic Tadpoles they died along with the brain.
well since the magic protecting it died, and you have shadowheart, which is a level 12 cleric, she could (and probably would) fix this issue after a long rest. Other peoples ? Well they should find a good healer, and fast.
My exact thoughts as well, I'm happy that I wasn't the only one to experience this bug so it should be fixed quicker, but also annoyed that it was an issue in the first place and that others were also experiencing it.
I love how the conversation you have with him before climbing the brain can literally play out as two snarky, loyal brothers-in-arms that would do anything for each other in the short time knowing one another. I love this game
I think this was fixed in one of the first patches because I did not get this issue. I did however attempt to take the tadpole from the emperor and have orpheos make my main a mindflayer resulting in my character instantly reverting to normal. Ya act 3 (especially the ending) has issues. I also hit a softlock in act 2 by killing the pixie then traveling back to the grove resulting in permanently losing the buff that allows going near moonrise (you dont get the bell in this scenario)
I am so glad this is an option to beat the game.I just don't have the patience to do a 43 hour boss fight with numerous phases and mechanics. I think they put an "I win" button for folks like me lol.
0:19 Hmm... how can you get +6 from Charisma? The max value is 20 and +5 isn't it? Then Persuasion Proficiency should be max at +4, unless you play on Explorer, which then would explain the +6 in Persuasion Proficiency and Expertise.
All absolutely true. I was playing on Explorer difficulty purely to complete the game as soon as possible in order to get it uploaded to RU-vid. I normally replay games at their hardest level when I have time to do so during breaks in RU-vid videos.
@@DrGrimReaperGaming A friend of mine thinks he is such a hard core gamer if he plays the game on the hardest difficulty the first time around. I usually play on the medium setting, to figure out the systems of a game first. What is the point to fail if you not know why you failed because you have no clue of all the systems? This is especially true in Baldurs Gate 3, the game kind of pushes you to play a high Charisma character, even then you possibly have to savescum the odd "rolling under 5 on a d20" spree. I do not really recommend playing Baldurs Gate 3 on the hardest difficulty, all that changes is enemies get a bonus to hit you, increased HP and a seemingly never ending supply of special Arrows they are eagerly using. D&D 5e is not really good a system for a Tactical game, there are better out there. Thanks for the reply!
@@Momoka7 Yeah I can understand playing on medium, and it's certainly true, what's the point of banging your head on the same wall over and over again when you don't fully comprehend all the mechanics yet. However, I do like challenging myself when playing games and how long it takes me to beat it, and I am a Trophy Hunter so that usually means beating it all over again on the hardest difficulty. Also thanks for the warning, whilst I guessed the game would become a bit annoying on the highest difficulty (these turned based games usually do), if that is the case, where they just become "bullet sponges" and just spam attacks on you, then it might not be worth the stress of doing it. No worries with replying, I enjoy talking to people when they comment.
@@DrGrimReaperGaming Difficulty. On Explorer enemies HP are reduced by 30%, on Tactician it is increased by 30%, Bosses on Tactician have 50% increased HP. So I would now not say they are super spongy in HP. But the issue is, all enemies gain +2 to attack rolls and +2 DC to their spells and abilities. Which means they hit you easier. It is not impossible to do, but unless you really have a clue what to look out for in weapons and gear, there is no point. Like for weapons, the best ones are the ones adding a D4 or so in damage Like the two Githyanki Great-swords that add a d4 psychic damage. Or the items adding "Spell Save DC" so enemies have it harder to pass their spell save if hit. I think you probably also need to carry shields more, my Paladin got hit allot with the 2Hand I gave him, once I got the Blood of Lathander I gave him a shield because I wanted to use it... and he got hit allot less.
@@Momoka7 Ah okay, that makes it seem a bit more doable. When I did my playthrough I rarely used shields since I never saw the need but on your advice I am certainly going to do it. This difficulty looks like I will need to do a bit of research before attempting and get used to different classes/sub-classes to even have a chance with it. Thank you for the heads up.👍
I did this with Gale, but didn't get an ending anything like this. Gale was standing there after it was all over as if he never blew himself up. Everything thanked my Tav for becoming a Mindflayer and saving everyone, even though I never did any such thing. I refused the tadpole. What a broken bugged ending of a game. 😞
Yeah it’s an unfortunate that a lot of these issues are still prevalent months after release, it certainly stunts your enjoyment of the game, as you’ve clearly experienced there’s no joy or contentment with finishing the game since it’s not the ending you wanted nor should have gotten.
@@Norinia I don't believe it has any effect on the endings, there's no consequences to using normal Tadpoles or the Astral touched Tadpole other than peoples faces looking different.
Agreed. Not sure if they fixed this bug as I haven't returned to BG3 due to the release of Starfield. Hopefully by the time I do return, they will have fixed all the bugs, glitches and other issues. Did you enjoy the game despite the bugs or did it completely spoil your experience?
@DrGrimReaperGaming I enjoyed it, but all the bugs in Act 3 put a damper on it. Hopefully, we will get a definitive edition like we did with Divinity Original Sin 2.
