Billy J Smith, David Wright and David Fordham hosted TVO's weekly rugby league show called Ball & All back in 1988 - a show that coincided with the entry of the Broncos into the NSWRL comp. It was an hour broadcast that aired every Saturday afternoon and covered the Sydney league, local league, with a bit of nostalgia thrown in. Smith, Fordham and Wright were the inaugural tv commentators for Broncos matches in Brisbane so it was fitting they fronted this programme.
In this episode, Test hooker Greg Conescu joins the lads in studio for a chat, while they also speak North Sydney Bears forward Gavin Jones ahead of the upcoming Broncos v Bears clash.
There is also Combined Brisbane v NSW Country Panasonic Cup qualifier highlights and Tony Durkin catches up with former Wests, Wynnum-Manly and Aussie Test winger Warren Orr in the Where Are They Now segment (some very rare BRL footage of Orr streaking away for a try at Lang Park playing for Wests is shown).
Highlights from the 1960 Australia v France Test series are given a run as well.
I'm pretty sure this show lasted about 3 years.
