So. This 'film' was made to be used as a theatre attraction in the Pirates World Theme Park that's seen in the film. Located in Dania, Florida, the park was mostly made up of rides bought from OTHER amusement parks and such - including the 1964 World's Fair. The rides themselves weren't in the best of condition, and safety standards were pretty lax back in those days, so the park in general felt very unsafe. Pirates World struggled HARD once Walt Disney World opened in Miami, and it went bankrupt in 1973, ultimately shutting down for good by 1975. If you're wondering who the Ice Cream Bunny is, that's long been a mystery, but the best guess is that he was a costumed character at Pirates World. There's footage that's surfaced other similar looking creatures being at the park when it was open, and given where the film was supposed to play, it's a logical conclusion to make. Incidentally, you watched one of TWO different versions of this film. The other replaces Jack In The Beanstalk with Thumbelina (and funnily enough, both stories were filmed in Pirates World). The Thumbelina version would probably have been less painful for you guys to watch, given the frankly bonkers nature of the story in general... and the fact that it ALSO has a framing device! It's a woman listening to a story that's being narrated by Mrs Mole as the woman looks at a series of models, which turns into a proper live-action version of the story. Until it gets to a scene that'd be too expensive to show, then it briefly cuts back to the woman listening to narration. So the Thumbelina version of the film is Santa telling a story of Mrs Mole telling the story of Thumbelina. Story-ception!

Nothing says Christmas like Santa slowly dying of heat exhaustion after crash landing in a sand dune. I contend that everything else, including the Ice Cream Bunny was actually a hallucination Santa was having, caused be severe head trauma and dehydration.

This makes SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS look like a Kurosawa film; this is beyond brutal.

Saw this on Rifftrax - was hoping you'd guys do this one for Christmas. It might not have increased the Christmas Spirit in the Brant household, but rest assured your suffering for us has made the holiday come alive for your viewers. Merry Christmas SBiG crew!

This was produced by a failed amusement park in Florida called Pirates World. There’s two versions one with Jack and the Bean stalk. The other was Thumbeilna.

This is the first time I’ve heard Jason make a “break” noise. Erin has had plenty of “broken” moments where she couldn’t form words any more but to hear Jason laugh and giggle so awkwardly that it became a whistle was classic.

Jason's descent into madness here is almost as good as Mike Stoklasa breaking during "Christy."

I watched it in full before seeing this video, its something you watch in awe. The bunny, the nightmare fuel siren, the driving, the santa who puts in less effort than steven seagal, the way they just cut to a 40 min film story before concluding the 23 min main feature priceless

The urban myth is that if you say _"Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny"_ , 3 time in a row, it will replace every single movie in your collection. This film is so terrifying that even The Candyman would not utter those words of doom!

There’s a version of this movie that has a “Thumbelina” insert instead of “Jack and the Beanstalk”. The Thumbelina short contains some weird and really creepy ass stuff, including a subplot where she has to choose between marrying a geriatric mole-man or being homeless lol (I’m not sure if that’s from the source material, but it’s still a little creepy) The guy behind this movie, Barry Mahon also made an adaptation of the Wizard of Oz book, “The Marvellous Land of Oz” but called his movie “The Wonderful Land of Oz”. And yes it’s as creepy and cursed as this movie, maybe little more lol.

This is the movie that should've been used for the brainwashing scenes in "Clockwork Orange"! 🤪

Your stunned disbelief at how creepy it got... the sound track sounded like distant air raid sirens, the rabbit patting that kids head for like 15 seconds straight, it was genuinely unsettling lol. Im nervous laughing. That rabbit took all those children out into the forest and murdered them all after this film was finished, im certain of it.

You all are lucky, the Rifftrax version of this movie features Thumbelina as the story in the middle, which didn’t have close to the budget of Jack and the Beanstalk. It’s much, much, more intolerable. My theory is that Santa went on a bender and woke up with a wicked hangover on a beach in Florida, with no memory of how he lost his bag of presents or the reindeer. Alternatively: As soon as the children see him on the beach they say, “Oh look, another drunk passed out in the beach again.” 😂 Ya’ll we’re brave to watch this one.
