Piano transcriptions are a mix of various instruments. Making a distinctive melody line, originally played on the trombone, stand out on the piano is a challenge. You did very well. Thanks for your tribute to JJ Johnson, the musician who struggled to get the slide trombone accepted in the jazz scene, and succeeded.
I love his sound which is so warm and classical but goes well with jazz. His rendition made me want to play this song. Always thank you for sharing your valuable idea.
Hi. Your arrangement is so full of lovely bluesy mellow chords joined together by gently played single note runs. It is simple yet so beautiful. I wish it were longer. You haven’t made the chords too complicated and difficult to play, but they have a such a lovely and sad tone. A clear and easy to follow transition. Thank you.
