After my last attempt trying to get a GT class win on Le Mans 24 Hours for the PS2, I got quite a few comments with suggestions that may just hold the key to a more competitive performance. Will a switch of setup, strategy, and weather give us a chance to take the win?

Another great video !! Okay, here's the next tip: (We're really climbing the LM24 game knowledge levels here 😅) If you want to outsmart the AI in strategy, you can save additional time during the pit stops by not changing your tires. I saw that your tires were basically still green at the end of your stints. There is an option for "No change" or something in that direction in the pit menu. Since simultaneous refuelling and tire changing were (and are) not allowed by the rules in endurance racing in real life and in this game, this will basically save you about 15 to 20 seconds over the AI every pit stop when you don't change the tires. You can directly see how long it takes, since the refuelling and tire changing animations play one after another, and not at the same time.

Thanks very much! The deep dive continues 😂 That's a good shout. If I can have a bit of luck with the weather and start on hard tyres in the dry, I can definitely avoid changing tyres in the first stop, and then run softs on the final stint. And I get what you mean about the animations, I had noticed they are also synced up with the HUD so you see the fuel bar fill up and the tyres change to a fresh green colour two by two. The attention to detail in the pit stops in this game is really smart.

1. Thanks - it's already grown out and I look scruffy again 😂 2. Apologies, I didn't know you'd done that. The Thursdays are temporary for me just because of some busy weekends, so I'll be back to Fridays next week. 😁

10:20 wtf 😮, i didn't knew that they can do bump draft. I genuinely love these AI bastards even if they sometimes are more aggressive than Nascar drivers in the final lap

There isn't a button for the headlights by any chance? Seems like the sort of "realistic gameplay mechanic" you'd expect from a PS2 game.

You're absolutely right in saying it sounds like the sort of thing this game would have, but upon further investigation, it sadly does not. A shame, because that would've been useful. 😅
