Karmen, I love the way you play not only with your fingers, but with facial expression and body movements! In contrast to another comment, your rubato is wonderful! 🌹
Another comment: this performance is truly the best ballade 2 ive heard! After listening to this a lot, i realized this, and believe me ive heard many ballade 2 interpretations. Ballade 2 is one of my favorites pieces and you played it so well and with mastery. I admire your playing and you truly have a gift for piano playing. You got another subscriber!
often I find those ffff & molto presto passages in Chopin counterproductive until you slow the tempo down a bit. Otherwise you sound blurrish. Even with this type of supreme skill.
Amazing. However, I regret the heavy rubato in the opening section, which sounds forced and artificial. And as for that last section, it works much better if it starts at a labouring speed and then forces its way forward. An uphill struggle to the finishing line. It's the musical effect that counts, not the technical supremacy.
Chopin is VERY different from some composers you play like Haydn and Bach. Haydn and Bach could never even dream of composing intricate monsters like that coda or those presto con fuoco sections. You are most certainly more home with Bach. I know professional pianists must play some pieces from every composer. But for me Chopin's piano music is far superior to composers like Bach and Haydn. But to me, your mechanical and musical talents are somewhat wasted on those composers.
