I'm kind of obsessed with your videos! :) Using a chair for support in that lunge stretch is genius!

I’m so glad you’re finding it helpful! Yes, using a chair better stabilizes the pelvis for more controlled and effective stretching! If you’re looking for my complete ballet training, check out Ballerina Body: www.everydayballet.com/become-a-member/ Kind regards, Tiekka

I found your channel yesterday and love it since the first minute I watched you and your videos🥰 They Are so great. I don‘t feel frustrated as I do when I watch other „ballett youtubers“. You bring joy and happiness. It‘s a pleasure to watch you. Is it possible to become very flexible when you start at 40? How often do I habe to stretch per week if it’s possible to say? This thoughts stop me from beginning. I am looking forward to many more videos from you🥰 greetings from Vienna/Austria

Welcome! And thank you for your kind words. 🙏🥰 To answer your question… Yes, it is possible to become more flexible at any age. The important thing is to be consistent, have patience, and to respect your body’s limits. One thing I love about ballet is that flexibility training is built in to the exercises because we use the body in extension all the time. For additional stretching you can take 5-15 min to stretch after doing some ballet exercises (when your muscles are warm). Mostly, don’t let flexibility hold you back from doing ballet! You will become more flexible along the way AND you’ll be doing something you love! 🥰🌸🩰✨

Am I supposed to feel a deep stretch in my back when performing the chair stretches?
@everydayballet
@everydayballet 2 года назад
Depending on your areas of tightness, yes. But without knowing a bit more about where in your back you are feeling this stretch, I am not able to say for sure what is happening. If you can provide a bit more detail about which movement position causes this sensation and where exactly you’re feeling it in your back, I may be able to give you a clearer answer. Just remember to maintain length through the lower spine and postural/core support throughout. This will keep your joints and spine safe and happy! 😊🩰🌸

@@everydayballet Thanks for your response, it is much appreciated. I feel the stretch along my entire spine when I move my arm in the circular motion.
@everydayballet
@everydayballet 2 года назад
Is it mostly as you are circling the arm in front of your body?
@angelica1673

@@everydayballet Yes

You’re feeling it there because your back is opening up with the leverage of that forward arm. As long as this sensation isn’t painful, it’s ok to continue as you are. Your back is getting a good posture stretch. Hope this helps! 😊🌸🩰
