The fact that the title has ballet in it and Emma Watson stars in this just makes this movie sound great :D Ballet is my life! Can't wait to watch it :)
Are all of you from Britain?I just loved all of Emma's outfits especially her jumper. This movie looked like the setting maybe in 40's cause I'm betting they don't have lifts back then...I'll never get vile or tired of watching all of Emma's movies.I also have the teen vogue issue that has Emma on the covers.Love Ballet! And F.Y.I Its Posy not Poppy!Dont't get mad just correcting you!And I also love the book which I already returned to the Library still memorize the page and chapter!
Are all of you from Britain? Just loved all her outfits especially her jumpers. That dosen't look modern it looks very old in the setting I guess maybe they dont have Lifts then...I will never get vile and tired of watching Emma everywhere!
I remember reading this for the first time about 3 years ago. I spent the next 3 years reading it over and over. :') Was so glad to find out there was a film made of it.
Linsay2801 - Well, her name is her name, and it's not going to change, so it shows that there is at least one Russian person with that name. Of course, in the case of this film, her surname could have been Petrova, and mistakenly, they assumed it was her first name, and she grew up with that name ever since.
For any Australians who want to watch this: Yay! Ballet Shoes will finally be available in Australia! This Sunday night, the 7th June on ABC! WHEEE! (I know this sounds like spam, but im not being paid for this, I'm letting Aussies know so you can watch it in great quality!)
I love this movie! I think it is so cool that Emma Watson's twin little sisters played her chasing after Petrova as a little girl in that one scene. I wonder who they will turn out to be...
you know what I think? I think Richard Griffiths FOLLOWS THEM! you guys ever notice that? How is it that when almost every Harry potter star that ever does another movie/play et cetera, Griffiths shows up?! it's strange, but entertaining. I like this movie already.
The story of three orphan girls (Pauline, Petrova, and Posy), adopted by an eccentric explorer, their great Uncle Matthew, and his niece Sylvia, in 1930s London.
I hardly believe it, it's just impossible. There is NO such russian first name It's the surname, like Anna Petrova (Anna is a first name, of course), and male variant - Alexandr Petrov, for example
@hollyp275 I think she would've said no by herslef, but it's nice to have her mom to put her back on earth if she ever starts thinking on that, wich she doesn't of course, but just in case. Love Emma.
I;m sorry, but every time I see an English movie, there are several Harry Potter cast members, it;s a joke. Like The King's Speech, there were like 3 of em.
@MIGHTIESTofBEANS ACTUALLY... I hate to break it to you, but I do have a thumbs up, and the reason why I'm watching this is because I dance ballet and tap, and I act :P
I know a Russian girl whose first name is Petrova O.o Maybe it's like the English name, I dunno, James, or something you can be called James Smith, or Kathy James, it can be a surname or a first name.
is this actually about ballet? emma watson (Hermione) and vernon dursley is in this movie! omg thats like sweeny todd were snape bellatrix and peter pettigrew are all in the same movie but its not harry potter isnt that weird!
So it's Hermione and Mr. Dursley in this movie? Okay... enough already!!! Stop defining actors and actresses by their best known roles, Emma and Richard are talented in other movies too, as this one shows
If you all don't understand what i mean, that's not the reason to mark my answer as a bad one. Cuz if you're not russians you can't think and see it like we do: Petrova is SURNAME! And even if it's a name (in the book and film), it doesn't matter! It was stupid to create russian character and make this idiotic mistake
does somebody know if this movie is available on dvd? sorry if i wrote that wrong. i'm argentinian and i'm not very good at english. well, please answer my question, please! thank you!
