When I heard this tune as a child, while playing the game, I always had this feeling like: Yes, I've almost reached Mr. Bison! But damn, I still have to beat the 3 sub-bosses!
I remember 1994. My dad had a playthrough taped via VHS. And his Chun Li smoked Balrog on max difficulty. This music is still badass and I remember the moment I immersed myself into fighting games. Thank you for uploading this specific soundfont.
It's funny how underrated Balrog is. I remember I made a mistake when fighting the computer Balrog on 8 Star for SF2 Turbo on the SNES, and he wiped the floor with me in 9 seconds. No joke. BTW, best Balrog theme.
So as a kid I tried beating all of the fighters on hard mode for some reason and I remember when I first beat the first 7 fighters as Ryu my 8 year old mind was blown that there were more fighters when Balrog appeared😂
i was 6 after buying SF for snes.. now im 20 and still listening to the epic SF themes. it makes me feel better , I dont need any psychologs or mental trainer, SF is enough !
I love this theme, the trumpets in the background give it that extra kick to it. If you let your guard down ONCE with Balrog, consider youself K.O'd xD
Whoever composed the songs for SFII was a legend, cause the SNES SF2 16 bit music sounds is so much better than our modern SFIV on PS3 which has 128 bit capability.
To me, this should be the official anthem for Las Vegas...I was there just this year and I had the Balrog theme playing in my head while I was on the Strip!
OK.. I'm gonna copy the video and re-edit in order to loop the first 3 secs And if i made it, im gonna the mp3 of this. The title of the video so you can find it will be Balrog theme - SNES (+ mp3 link) If you like anything more, just ask :D
Sonic boom -> Spinning backfist -> Upside down kick to Dizzy, then jump strong pnch, low middle punch, Sonic boom, backfist. Just hearing the music and I remember my combos
Best theme in SF 2... Its a beautiful and eletric song at the same time XD Bison's theme was kinda disturbing (cause you know what was coming on to you) but Balrogs one was really cool to hear while fighting...
Ahahah, I'm 20 and listening to it too. Difference is my brothers got the game when I was 3 so I just watched them rage until I was old enough to handle myself... Which was age 4 to be fair, but they were much better than I was until I was about 8, ahaha. Whoa, tangent... Game music awesome! Done.
Damn, I forgot how cool this tune was! Ryu's theme was my favorite for a long time, but now I stumbled upon this I consider this the best tune in the game. But I can't deny the awesomeness of the themes of Ryu, Ken, Guile, Zangief and Vega. They pwn too of course.
@@jurassicmatt2796 zangeif's theme is amazing, not only does it slap, but it fits the theme of the abandoned power plant/ussr/work as well as feeling like a tip toeing dance with the russian bear. also, hello from a year later.
"Hey ice cream-man, what kinda ice-creams ya have" "Well kiddo i got this new Balrog Special, its so good that it would knock your socks off!" "Shweet :D gimme 10!"
when i first used him, i got killed by bison and i though he shouted "my entire body" lol still though the funniest death quote is rufus's "oh crap!!!"
balrog was a tough character because he could use the dash punch and uppercut over and over which is not possible when u play as him because you have to hold back for 2 secs.
Used to have heaps of trouble with him. Then I looked at his disproportionately tiny legs...then I spammed sweeps... Perfect games all the way then lol.
@ohsnapitsBRYC3 Well actually M. Bison (Balrog in U.S) was "Mike Bison" cause Balrog was a play on pro boxer at the time Mike Tyson, but they had to change the name to avoid lawsuits from Tyson for not having his approval of likeness and name in the video game thus M. Bison became Balrog, Balrog became Vega, and Vega became M. Bison.
@masterplusmargarita Not really, you have to take advantage of his relatively slow supers. When he's backing up for a thrust or charging for a turn punch, crouch and throw in a quick kick to stop him. Or during turn punch, you can sometimes just grab him.
@epiUnleashed zangief: what are your special moves? Balrog: I can punch really hard! Dhalsim: can you kick? Balrog: whats a kick? everyone : OOOOOOOH hes the one that cant kick.
ROFL! -runs- this guy scared the crap outta me. i remeber i always hid behind my friggin grandma when he tore his shirt off when i was like 6 yrs old xD i was like "grams, quit picking him dammit!" lol @ 6 :O
allstartv is right SF2 had the original eight characters and SF2 Turbo: Hyper Fighting had the 4 boss chars. the four boss chars existed in SF2 original but were not playable
Late to the party but this theme always hit different than the others. Especially for one of the bosses. Def my favorite. And this version of the theme is king. Can't really explain it but I would rather listen to the SNES version over any other version.
Balrog ftw! Theres this awesome piano version that sounds a lot better than most of the ones on RU-vid now. keep your eyes peeled on my videos, I might upload it soon..i dunno
@jon2511 LMFAO that made my day! cuz i imagined him working at an ice cream van and whenever a kid buys an ice cream, he also punches them in the face as a bonus. LLLLLLLLLLL
