Baltimore City officials are not intelligent enough to come up with a plan to put them to work on their own block getting involved in the community learning responsibility picking up trash, reporting illegal crime activity and helping the elderly, homeless, and others, if they could get them to do these things while being paid for their participation they might just grow up to be responsible human beings and the city could possibly be a better place to live and visit in the future.

I honestly avoid that intersection and basically the city at all cost. It's sad because there's so many beautiful museums and places to go in Baltimore City. Something really needs to be done. It really says a lot of bad things about our city having people extort money from you basically as soon as you enter the city.
I avoid all of Baltimore City at all cost, and I'll take a 25-30 mile detour driving around I-695 to get to the other side of it over a straight bee line through it to stay healthy and living every day.

This may deter tourists from coming to Baltimore. Squeegee kids/people shouldn't be pacified and this situation needs to be seriously augmented before someone else gets hurts, killed, decrease in tourism, and/or do folk moving out of Baltimore.
The big mistake that was made is that the former mayor basically legitimized pan handling a told them that it was a legitimate job.Prior to that it was only done by homeless people who were trying to earn a little money. It was wrong to take the children and teach them that this was O.k.. They should have been given real help with basic life skills.There are different schools that they could have went to learn a trade.

First off it's a mistake to call them "squeegee kids." That makes it sound like it's not serious. Robbing somebody or threatening them if you don't give them what they want is a crime. And it should be treated as a crime. The people should not roll their windows down, they should just keep driving. If the criminals continue to harass them, harm their car or get in front of them, they may just have to keep driving even if it means damaging the criminal. This has to be stopped let's face it, if it's not it's going to become something very very serious, and deadly!
