Adley's walk-off has to be one of the most surreal O's homers since Trey Mancini's memorable, Mo Gaba-aided, off-of-the-outfielder's face(!), near-impossible, inside-the-park, Little League miracle.
We all appreciate the athleticism of Jorge Mateo, but something that caught my eye earlier in the month was when he completed a double play at first. Mounty took the grounder, but when he threw to second he was too far away from the bag to get back, so Jorge had the presence of mind to cover for him to preserve the double play opportunity. One of the O's announcers raved at how few second basemen would have been at first to receive the throw from Gunnar.
Great job, Boys!. Homers are exciting but agree the O's need to focus on making contact and getting hits. It felt like Jackson was trying to reach the fences when he came up here and it threw off his form. But at least all of them have the capacity to both. Feels like the TEAM energy of O's magic I used to watch at Memorial Stadium and it's super fun to watch. Go, O's! Go, Boys!
Great work today from the bullpen. Another exciting win for the team. Production from the future of this team stays strong. Overall though the 0-10 with RISP is not something we can repeat on the regular and hope to still win a game. For about 3 weeks now it just seems like we are not working counts very well. I love the aggressiveness at the plate but we only saw about 16 pitches or less per inning yesterday with a lot of baserunners and 11 hits overall and 3 walks.
Ive been saying it over and over again..... MAN ITS A GREAT TIME TO BE AN OS FAN!!!! FANTASTIC comeback game boysss! My whole things is..... if we want to be a contending team, we need to win these types of strange games like this. Yes its not something id normally like to see, but im glad we are on the winning side of strange games like this and not the reverse. Anthony was safe. I call it the way I see it. If he was out, I would of said he was out. It was soooo clear he was safe. Now here is my next question. Out of all the people in the review booth in NY, how many are yankees fans that secretly despise the orioles? Why wouldnt they have a team across the americas remotely doing these reviews and voting?
Did I miss something? Where in hell is the praise for Adley?! An incredible walk off homer and you guys are just stuck on b*tching today.(update: ok you got to it in the 51st minute!)
