im a parent and i love it. have loved steve winwood since i first heard him in the 60's. what an incredible carreer. not only a genius but a saint with the voice of an angel and so many other colors. thanx
I'am 15 years old from spain and someday fly to New York to visit his statue and the museum of cleveland , not only by balto if not the whole story is, Nome,Nenana 20 mushers , i know all history is my inspiration and will to keep fighting for my dreams Good Song :)
im 65 and have been a winwood lover since i was 20. his music has enriched my life in so many ways, inspired me deeply, and added colorful sounds in the process. balto is my favorite movie. winwood is my favorite musician. so much wonderful talent out there it's amazing.
louder. the world needs to hear. thank you barry and cynthia for this song. what an excellent way to top off such a fine carreer. and having the honor of winwood singing, wow. was great to see you on women of rock too. we gotta keep on going, keep on running, because hellven is in our minds. have all of winwood's albums but balto's the only movie i own. giving thanks
I always loved this movie and consider it one of my all time favorites I watched this film many many times growing up, and this movie a long with all dogs go to heaven 2 are two examples of my favorite soundtracks for movies. And this song contributes to the heart and soul this movie has going for it. Little Bit of Trivia : Barry Mann and Cynthia weil also wrote the songs for All Dogs Go To Heaven 2 no wonder I love both movies soundtracks.
Whenever I am sad or desperate, this song always makes my heart lightened. This song give me hope, so I do not give up my dream, and above all, keep reaching for the light. :) Thank you, Balto. You are a big part of my childhood.
+Sói xám Shinsengumi me too plus this song called "Hall of fame". If you haven't heard that song then i would suggest looking it up because it will REALLY lift up your spirit!
i love this song i always cry en get wetty eye's cuss i see my self in it always in background of everything sometime's i even wonder why do i excist but i then w8 this movie en cheer me up ty for uploading
I saw this on a Monday night. I figured there wouldn't be many children there and I'd really be able to hear it. Would you believe that I ended up being an audience of one? This is the only time it's ever happened to me. I still can't believe it as it's one of my favorite movies. I kept thinking of how many people were missing out on such a great time. This song helped me through a rough time then and a few more since. What a loss James Horner was to movie music and the human spirit! He also did the score for Natty Gann, another great movie. Thanks for posting this.
I just LOVE these lyrics. There was such great depth to movies back in the day. The lyrics and music composition were also simple yet profound. I could listen to this all day. :D
Nice grammar problem. Anyways, I think you should. It would make you look more like a normal person. People should not like the idea of anthropomorphic animals kissing and fucking each other. It's just downright disgusting. I wouldn't be surprised if you yourself wanted to fuck animals at this point. You Steven.
the first movie out of all three made it heck myh mother and i would watch this and laugh and cry. But now i watch this to keep her memories in my mind and heart. Her and i had lived with a wolf-husky mix when he would howl it sounded more wolf than dog, and we gave him the name chief. R.I.P. mother May 30, 1962-September 30, 2011. I will always cherish your love to the family and your handsome little man, me. who is now 16 and will visit the places you wanted to see even if i pass away doing so
I LOVED this movie. It stills hold a powerful pull on me to this day, the only thing I'm disappointed about it is the sequels. This will always be my one and only Balto movie, I refuse to acknowledge the rest.
the sequels weren't bad, in my opinion, just kinda unnecessary. the first was and remains one of my favorite movies and the song here is just another part of what i loved about it.
I've loved this movie ever sense I was a baby. I have never thought that I was getting to old to watch this movie. I will never be too old to watch this movie
@AlexandJasonfan I agree. Movies like this are for all ages, just like Disney movies are for everybody. And I plan to show my kids the movies I grew up with, too!
-high fives- 28 years old and I am not ashamed to say that I enjoy watching a kid show now and then. Balto All Dogs Go To Heaven An American Tale All of these shows and more I watch now and then. heck, I even watch the G1 Transformers and even look for episodes of older shows on youtube now and then, such as Gargoyles and Dino Riders.
What's interesting about this and other movies from the past, particularly in the mid 90's, is that in today's standards, those would be considered straight-to-dvd movies.
favorite move, favorite singer/songwriter/musician since the start. have lived with wolf dogs, coyotl sheps, and winwood since the sixties. read most of the great wolf novels. it's been a great yet trajic life. same for the wolves. . .
Just found out that both the musher on that trip was Norwegian! I’m soo f**ing proud to be a Norwegian right now! Was like seven years old when I saw it the first time, still one of my favorites! Imo the best animation movie ever!
I LOVE THIS MOVIE, this was basically my whole childhood, i watched it all the time and this song was my favourite, couldn't stop listening to it! It'll go on my iPod now. lol. but seriously, i'm feeling very nostalgic now.
My parents would not let me watch Balto when I was young -- they just didn't care for it. I saw it later, and I enjoyed it. It was cute. Great movie to watch in the winter when I am sick.
Balto the movie is, in itself, a much greater and deeper tribute to Togo and all the other people and dogs involved in that mission. Understand that and hopeful it would ease your contempt. I love Balto too.
a good memorial for a great dog who saved the lives of many children. right now the iditerod is being run in Alaska in memory of the serum run. rest in peace, Balto. you did better than most people.
The true story is even more compelling than the movie.. Any person who has seen this movie and not read the real story, really should.. It wasn't just one dog that did it all but 20 teams that had at least 6 dogs in each...
I remember my whole school went on a feild trip to theaters to see this, it was so epic. its one of those movies that have spirit, work that developers actually put their heart, blood, sweat and soul into it.
@DemonTiger43 The people who write the sing are James Horner, Cynthia Weil and someone else whose name escapes me, this is an amazing song, one of the best I have heard in ages. A definite winner, I watches Balto for many years and I lived it, it was my favourite movie and it still is, my favourite song was Heritage of the Wolf where Balto howls with the White Wolf
Oh yea. nothing like a character with a tragic history and a compelling love story. Plus that deep booming voice is just so...-shivers with delight- -shakes head- Ugh, sorry. I know it's animation, but let's be frank. Some characters are just too awesome and hot to deny. :)
was a pretty cool movie when I was a kid in think I was like 9 when this movie came out..... great movie great times.... wish I could go back Jus for a lil while
You know. As a kid, whenever we watched this movie, after my brothers left at the ending, I stayed throughout the entire credits just to hear this song.
Balto really inspires me because i was bullied and still am. When I grow up (I'm' 16 BTW) I want to be bigger than Walt Disney at animation and i want to make a difference through my movies! The very first thing I am going to do is animate a movie about my character Fury who was bullied by almost every other animal in the forest. nobody believed that he could be somebody at all. In the end, he saves them all from the shadow villains and they all love him! Fury is not just my character, but also my best friend. We will change the world TOGETHER!!!
+scourge ofbloodclan That sounds like a flim I would see and I think it would bring back what made this masterpiece of animation so spectacular, and it sucks to be bullied whenever. If you ever need help making a flim like that I could and you could talk to me. Also about the flim will you include a romance subplot?
Already covered. Fury is a fire fox who broke the laws of nature and fell in love with a water fox named Rosora. But of course they can't be together until the end. And thank you for your support and for wanting to help! I will definitely keep this in mind :D
Your welcome and I know what it feels like to feel picked on and Balto is a flim that shows that no matter how you look your still a somebody and your given something everything from the voice cast to the animation to the romance it was all handled soo beautifully
Yes I know! It's such a shame that Balto is so underrated. If you ask me I think that every person needs to watch this movie no matter what their age is.
I really love this movie ^^ what I like about this film: the story is great, the animation is really good, and it’s also based on a true story :) one of my favorite movies of all time ^^
balto is simply amazing i love those movies i wish they could make more! and u know whats amazing there was a real balto i dont know if he did what the movie does or not but there is a balto in alaska
