Honestly ive watched 1000s of how to videos and never sat and watched them all the way because they either was going way too fast or was skipping vital information. I actually sat and watched every bit and followed it and was able to figure out how to get my first ever print going. Good work
Pro Tip: If you put these chapters in the description instead of a comment, it'll chunk up the timeline so we can see and click them directly in the video playbar. Just makes for better user experience. ;) That said - any chance you could share where you found that koopa shell stl!? :)
@@raiyneofgailinthis comment is not from the channel/vid-creator, I just noted down the timestamps while watching the vid - actually took quite a long time. Checking now, they have added my comment in the description so the vid has chapters now :)
Thank you so much for this video. I am getting my 1st 3d printer today (a P1S) and it's super helpful to learn how to use the software ahead of time! Can't wait for more tutorials :)
@@BashkimUkshini it’s been going great! Honestly I don’t have a ton of tips as the printer just works. The only thing id mention is the AMS works but tends to have alot of issues pulling the filament back when completed for a multitude of reasons so just be prepared. It’s easy enough to pull the filament out manually to fix the error. These videos are a great resource though if youre looking to learn a bit more about the slicer. Congrats and happy printing!
As a retired teacher, your videos are outstanding and very project based. I got my P1S setup, printed a benchy with supplied filament. Now I am loading the AMS with Tough PLA to print a couple of parts with just one filament. I subscribed & can't wait to view your other videos.
I think orthogonal is a specific view - perpendicular to some plane (side, top etc). Orthographic in these softwares usually is an option for determining if depth is captured in how it display the part. In contrast with perspective. So I do think Bambu gets it a little wrong or confusing in Studio. In Solidworks you can turn on perspective mode but it’s not default since it can be very deceptive (like he demonstrates) if you don’t know it’s on. Also you can show an orthogonal view in perspective mode, if that makes sense.
I consider myself a novice, and it is super complicated for novices. And your video is not helping!!! How did you get a turtle??? I see the build plate, but on yours a turtle magically appears 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
Get yourself an stl file of something you want to print, then just above the build place you have an icon to import an stl. This will make the magical thing appear on the magical plate
26:55 "I'm not going to go into depth..." 😭 That's the exact reason I watched this video! 🤣 I want to know if that's a list of the spools I have installed or the colors I WANT to be in the print. If I change them here, will it warn me I don't have the color installed? I'm just getting into 3D Printing and your videos are AWESOME!!! Hope you have one for coloring models and printing in multi-color. Tips and tricks on that too. Thanks.
Orthogonal: of or involving right angles; at right angles. Orthography: the art of writing words with the proper letters according to standard usage. Good tutorial though, but 8 ads on a 33 minute video, really?
I am a complete novice, and the P1S is my first printer. After owning the printer for more than two weeks, I have still only been able to print two small PLA boats. Every time I try to print anything, the AMS rolls backwards and forwards and finally blinks a red LED at me, and then displays an error in Bambu Studio: "Failed to feed filament into the toolhead". I then have to disassemble the AMS and all the way to the print head. No blockage is ever found, and then it prints. I am only printing PLA and have tried printing differing filament reels. However, I still end up with that dreaded blinking AMS red LED. I have watched all the Official tutorials in case there is some step that I am missing regarding a workflow after a print job. I cannot believe that I need to do a full tear down of the filament delivery system from AMS reel to toolhead every time I need to print. Any and all suggestions would be welcomed.
Thanks for making this. I got my P1S with AMS a few days ago, and pretty much self-navigated the software with minimal issues. These guides you made are helping me to explore the finer details within the software, and bridging small gaps that I didn't know were there! :)
At around 24:30 you talk about being able to see whats happening at each layer and the horizontal line at the bottom shows a simulation of that layer. Is there a way to set that simulation in motion and automatically continue into the next layers? Similar to watching a trip simulation on a GPS.
Just got my P1S, printed the little Benchy boat and ready to move on. This video was exactly what I needed to watch!!! Looking into your Patreon next, thanks for all the info here!
Good evening really the video was very helpful, i am a new in 3D printing and i am willing to buy my first bambu i am between ( A1 and A1 Mini ) which one you suggest
Love your tutorials, very helpful. Perhaps you can help me with a dilemma I’m having…..I have the P1S and I’ve been trying to print with PC and ASA and all I get is one failure after another, it seems like no layer adhesion no matter how much I tweak the settings. Funny thing is I’ve had no problem printing with these filaments on my AnkerMake M5C.
Awesome video! I'm looking at upgrading my old QIDI, which has served me well for business prototyping, as well as home widgets, but am looking at upgrading to the Bamboo X1-Carbon and just downloaded the Studio to take a look and your video helped out quite a bit.
Awesome guide thank you for this. I've been using cura for the past 4 years and just purchased the A1 combo, whilst waiting for it to arrive I thought id check out the slicer it uses and by the looks it's just like cura. Which I'm very happy about. 👍🏼 Thanks again..
After watching a review of the Bambu Lab A1 3D printer, I found your channel. Now you rave about this slicer software, but what are your thoughts about the printer? Is it a good first printer for someone like me who has never had or used one?
Your videos have been super helpful! I’m running into a problem I’m wondering if your videos go over? I’m trying to create hollow space through a handle to a base of a sword but when I cut the STL file the hole doesn’t go throughout the whole object.
Hey! Watched the video. Thanks for the tutorial. I will need to rewatch later after I figure out how to connect the computer to the printer via wifi )which is proving to be far more of an issue than it should be. The user manual solutions do not work and are far from descriptive enough to be of any help. Have the Bambu labs handy app on my phone, not sure what that is for either. Not sure why the process can't be simple. Very frustrated.
Just food for thought: When you show moving up to top left at 3:59, are you able to zoom into that? I may be the only one in the world who would appreciate that. But, appreciate that I would. On my high-dollar monitor, I can't read what you are clicking on. I can mutter through, but, if you want to be No. 1 in your field. check to see how hard it would be to pull it off for this 78 y/o. Just food for thought. I wouldn't know how to begin to make a channel as good as yours. You've helped me a lot.
the rotate view its a problem with the left mouse button, there should be a way to change because we are constantly accidentally moving the pieces and changing their place, there has to be a way to change the movements depending on our preferences.
When you add plates and lets say you added 5 plates, can you set it where you can send lets say plate #1 to printer A, plate #2 to printer B ....and so on? Thanks for the video tutorial btw.
I have circled back to this video after making about 20 prints on my own and it’s got some very helpful stuff in it. But I couldn’t appreciate the dive into all these features until I had printed a bunch of stuff. You should not call this a beginner’s guide. I’m 13 minutes into this and you haven’t shown me how to: import, slice and print. That’s all a beginner wants. That being said I’m now going to watch the rest of you’re (intermediate) guide to the Bambu studio and see what cool tips you unveil and why you like this software so much and how it’s different from other slicers.
At 4:55 you show us the answer already exists and is there on screen while you complain it isn’t there (ctrl-1 thru -6) 😅 Get a 3Dconnexion knob with the view buttons there and put your other hand to use :)
The part i don't get is multiple build plates. If i have two objects on two build plates, does that mean it will print one, i take that off, and then it'll print the next..? Or i need two printers and it will print on both at the same time...? What is the purpose of multiple build plates?
How about a video where you can have an open project then add an .svg or other file on top of it. Then join them to make one object for printing. I am trying to have a thin flat surface open in Bambu studios then bring in a .svg logo file to place on top of it to use for display. I have not been successful yet.
Thanks for this video. I am a new 3d modeler who is getting my 1st printer a (carbon x1 w/AMS). This will be helpful once it arrives bc it gives me no reason to be afraid to start printing. I cant wait for the printer to arrive!! thanks again
I have a question and I'm not sure where to ask it so I hope I'm not changing the subject. I downloaded a print for the spool adapter that is supposed to be good for the cardboard spools. Bambu labs brought it up w/ more than 2 build plate. I think it was 2. My question is how does the printer print the 2 build plates. Does it do one then pause so I can clean the plate off then start the second. I found a couple builds that have 3 plates. Sorry. New to Studio. Love it and my machine though. Started printing the sat before xmas and have printed all day since. Not sure when I need to do maintenance though.
Just bought a P1S with AMS and as a complete beginner your guide has been very informative. I look forward to watching and learning more from your guides.
I am trying to print using support. I have the ams loaded with support filament and PLA. Bambu labs slicer shows it has the supports enabled but when I send it to the printer it only uses the PLA for the supports and build. Do you know what I am doing wrong ?
The problem I am finding is that when I find a design and I want to take out the supports they designed into it I cant do that. For instance there is a baby yoda I wanted to print. I did one in a solid color and about half the print was supports.
Every part you print wirelessly goes through Bambu's servers, which means that they get copies of whatever parts you design. So be careful what you print wirelessly.
Have had a Creality printer for a while and using Cura. The concept of adding build plates baffles me. Do you send the additional build plates to different printers?
All I wanted to do was add a printer, which is the title of this video, but you just blah, blah, blah, blah and never added a printer. Stick to the subject matter.
What are the big circles that show on the objects and red a message saying there is a collision when the all elements on the build plate are the same number of layers. There are multiple build plates shown but I only want to print the objects from one build plate.
Hi Chris, having my Bambu Lab A1 only a few weeks & watching you vids I love them, so helpfull & very informative, & you make watching them & learning about BS so easy, many thanks mate...Steve H from the UK
So when you label your print & send it to the printer does it show a previous print name on the printer? I printed the Cuts-Of-Beef file that I downloaded & colored & printed on the X1C. But now when I create new files to send to the printer & they have different names, they always show up as Cuts-Of-Beef on my P1S even though I've never printed that file on the P1S??? Any way to fix this?
I use Cura with Moonraker and send my prints straight to my Ender 3 S1 pro. I agree that wireless sends are very nice! I can print a file in 3 clicks without even touching printer (if filaments loaded and its on of course lol) I'm gonna check into this new slicer though ...more knowledge is always power! Show overhangs off by default!?! lol
I turn my printers "on" using smart network controlled power outlet adaptors (less than £7 each). I check up on real world progress using super cheap web cams. All my printers are controlled wirelessly using Octoprint running on a networked Raspberry Pi 😊😊😊
@@ItsMeaDMaDe the power on via smart plug is a pretty good idea! I'm looking for a phone app to monitor my prints. I have a camera hooked to sonic pad just need to find a way to view it when not home...I'm sure there's a way or program
I loved your 'CURA' tutorials and it helped allot. I now decided to order the X1C and I really look forward to your new tutorials on this Slicer.... You're the best!!!
Very well done video. You are great at explaining the software and the steps we need to take. I fully understand that you like to work in dark monitor mode, but truly for the sake of the video the normal or light mode settings in my opinion are easier for me to see. Or are my eyes just getting old. Not a complaint just an observation from the first part of the video the latter part. Alos I am looking forward to what you have in store for this series. Thank you.
8:00 "Orthographic projection is a type of 'parallel' projection in which the four orthogonal views of an object are shown." So orthogonal view in this case is the right term .
Thank you for making this. But everything is very small, I can't really see. I think it would be easier to follow if you lowered the resolution on your monitor.
I've been a tried and true Cura user, but Bambu Studio has really won me over. I'll be purchasing the P1S soon and I wanted to familiarize myself with the Bambu slicer. In doing so I now use the software for my Elegoo as well. I'm a big fan. If the slicer is any indication of the new printer I'm getting I will be very satisfied ❤
New Subscriber, Our Bambu P1S is on its way. Thank you for helping me learn about the new slicer. It's not completely foreign to Cura. I love seeing the capabilities, especially the camera. I've been thinking of installing one in our print room for years. It will save me from running up and down stairs to check prints (I may have to visit the gym more often). I made a cheat sheet while I was following your tips. I'm looking forward to watching your other videos. Well done:)
Hahaha, I'm sitting here with a headache, trying to get a head start learning about my first ever printer, the A1 Mini..... THANK YOU SO MUCH for turning on dark mode..😂..I'm about to binge your series. Thanks for the great video! 🙏👊🏻
Thanks for all the Bambulab-videos! You saved me a lot of time! You're the very first RU-vid-guy, I send money to, in my whole life (I use RU-vid since its beginning)🙂
Wow!! Thanks so much I really appreciate it you supporting the channel. I have more videos planned in the upcoming weeks! Hopefully they don’t disappoint
To be honest I don’t have anything bad to say about the printers they make a high quality product that works great. It’s the closest thing to a plug in print 3D printer I’ve seen.
