Ban Ki-moon, 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations, delivered a lecture at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies on 11th March 2022, as the Nelson Mandela Fellow.
The Covid-19 pandemic and the climate crisis have shone a light on our fundamental interconnectedness. In this lecture, Ban Ki-moon emphasises that these global crises can only be addressed effectively through global partnership and cooperation.
Ban Ki-moon served as Secretary-General of the United Nations between 2007 and 2016. He has been praised for his promotion of international dialogue - notably playing a major role in putting the climate crisis at the forefront of the global agenda.
