omg - they are so awesome. I remember driving to San Felipe, Mexico as a teenager when this album came out. I was lucky enough to have a Sony Walkman, and listened to this album on the drive and during vacation. I had a crush on all of them :) ... but the music was so fun and good, here I am, so many years later, enjoying their talents once again. And, oh, I just have a crush on them AGAIN!!! Superb ladies, just outstanding, and props to the backup musicians, it sounded PERFECT!

Until yesterday I always thought they were a Dutch band. For 45 years I was happy with this brilliant song, made by the Dutchies. And then I read Wikipedia......still a brilliant song though 😀
On this day in 1984 {June 16th} Bananarama performed "Robert DeNiro's Waiting" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'... Four weeks earlier the song entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #96, the following week it peaked at #95 and that was also it's final week on the Top 100... And on March 25th, 1984 it reached #3 {for 2 weeks} on the United Kingdom's Official Top 100 Singles chart... Between 1982 and 1988 the London trio had eleven records on the Hot Top 100 chart, three made the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "Venus", for one week in 1986... Besides "Venus", their two other Top 10 records were "Cruel Summer" {#9 for 1 week in 1984} and "I Heard A Rumour" {#4 for 3 weeks in 1987}...
Since we are nearing Xmas 2018, I have been watching Xmas videos on RU-vid and saw Band Aide (Back in the 1980's) which Bananarama was a part of . . . how cool !
