Welcome to Band-Maid Shadzy! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). Prep yourself for the onslaught of Maidiacs. I found BAND-MAID online three years ago looking for music that wasn't the normal contemporary A&R rock music. RU-vid kept suggesting "Thrill" by Band-Maid - a group of five girls dressed in maid costumes. I thought they might be some cheesecake idol group for old men to leer over, but then I watched the video and they ROCKED. I thought maybe they're a one-hit-wonder, but in video after video they just kept getting better. Every time. Then I watched "Onset", a live instrumental they do to give their vocalist's throat a rest; it was a mind blowing display of musical genius and I told myself that I'd never hear anything that could top it. I was wrong. A year later Band-Maid released "From Now On" - it brought me to tears. Lead guitarist Kanami Tono is 'Miss Sensible Shoes" and the compositional genius behind this bands incredidly deep catalog of music. Bassist Misa, is the 'Barefoot Assassin' who trades riffs with Kanami and composes those Emo bass lines. Misa is an incredible bass player: watch her carefully or else you'll miss her magic, because she makes it look too easy. Also pay close attention to Drummer Akane Hirose: she 's an absolute monster. Rhythm guitarist/vocalist Miku Kobato is the band's 'I do a little of everything' fill in the gaps player. Then there is Saiki Atsumo, the consummate song and dance woman who fronts the band. They are one of the top live acts touring today. In 2023 I saw them twice and they do not disappoint.

HATE? is one of the lesser (or at least, no MV) songs from BAND-MAID's 2022 album, which got an extended guitar/bass duel treatment in the middle for their 2023 world tour. Well, you'll have to see for a 10 outta 10 with BAND-MAID some day! That comes down to your tastes, in great part, but there's a great deal of variety in what they do.

Kanami Tōno, lead guitarist and composer is IMO the most impressive musician of the 21st Century. Pure genius as a composer and true Rock n’ Roll Star on stage. True shredder also but always plays her guitar like what serves the song the most 🔥❤️
Roger, You're the man!!!!! Shadzy, you have just discovered one of the best rock and roll band in the world at this moment. Your next reaction should be to "Don't You Tell ME", the official live video, from this same concert. It also has a bass/lead guitar "call and respond conversation". The best Band-Maid is live Band-Maid. They give their audience everything they have. I've been to two live concerts in the past. It was worth every penny I spent and th time waiting in line conversing with other Maidiacs. By the way, MISA, the bassist, does perform barefoot. That's why she is called the "Barefoot Assassin". She is, perhaps, the coolest bassist on the planet.

MISA always plays barefoot, and because she, in the beginning, didn't like too much the thing of the Maid Outfit, at a point she choose to wear that sort of black kimono. Miku said that anyway she still is a maid, an Assassin Maid: from all this now she has the nickname: "Barefoot Assassin"😍

"The Barefoot assassin" is one of the greatest bassists on the planet. Japan hasn't forgotten about the bassist. They are very much front and center of most of their rock and metal bands.
The dueling solos is actually an argument. In context with the lyrics and theme of the song, this is an argument between the boyfriend(bass) and the girl(guitar). The bass starts off talking smack. The guitar answers back with her own smack. The bass then "complains" about shit, the guitar answering back mockingly. They do a little back and forth until it eventually becomes a shouting match, playing at the same time at each other, until finally the guitar has the last word, and leaves the bass mumbling to himself. This is the GENIUS of Kanami's songwriting.
@@shadzyg duels or battles are between adversaries. MISA and Kanami are musical sisters speaking to each other thru their instruments. They don't compete against each other. They push each other to be better. To say otherwise is just incorrect and offensive to me.
Favorite part of the reaction, “oh this is not in English, cool”. So many are worried about the lyrics and miss the musicianship and feel. Hell I love lyrics but after decades of music I still have to read most to get a feel for them anyway. As for bass being ignored, not in Band Maid, Misa has 100% attention of Maidiacs. If you want more great Japanese female bands but in metal with guitar solos try Lovebites and Nemophila.

The problem is I see it with first-time reactors doing Band Maid is it tends to blow up their Channel then they'll start reacting to nothing but band maid and then their views will go down and they'll stop completely. I genuinely hope this is different
@JayDavisAtHome I just do all this for fun so I'm definitely not planning on stopping anytime soon! I'm trying to put out 1 reaction video per week. since I also stream games and have a full time job and family, I'm trying to keep a consistent schedule that works for me. Already have 1 reaction video recorded for this week and will be doing lovebites next week 😁

My very first reaction I did, I didn't do any pauses and got it so I started pausing more but I think I leave too much time between certain parts because I still have claims on the last couple. Luckily its not strikes and the video can stay up, plus I'm not monetized yet anyways 🤣
@@shadzyg Band-Maid and Pony Canyon, their label, is very lenient when it comes to copyright strikes. The Maids love reactors and they even have called out some in some of the live Okyu-ji's. The only copyright we've heard about was a recent collaboration piece with "The Warning" when they did a joint concert in Japan in June. In Japan, it's illegal to film the show unless it's stated it's OK. Unfortunately, the new collaboration song was unpublished and someone videoed it and posted it by mistake. It sounded like a whole miscommunication thing. Long story short, the only way to take down an unpublished song in YT is to do copyright strikes. But, hey, I understand, you got to do what you feel comfortable with. As for stopping, it really doesn't bother me. I've heard these songs hundreds of times and I'm here to see reactors react to the songs. I like seeing minds being blown. Surprised looks. And love hearing breakdowns of what they like and even dislike, as long as it's done with respect. Keep rocking with the Maids...PO!🕊
Great reaction until you put a number on it please stop doing that either you like it or you don't but it's insulting to bandmaid to put a number on their talent plus one rule when reacting to bandmaid absolutely no talking or pausing while kanami is speaking
