It is indeed a masterpiece. Maybe my imagination, or because I'm watching on my phone, but isn't that studio sound? I remember the actual live performance that we're watching being even better. There's also a live acoustic version which has a completely different atmosphere and many people like even more.
I thought this was missing the growl in Saiki's voice when she sings the line "shimau no ka" in the original live. Good catch. Someone did a good job syncing this up.
Puzzle is the Maids equivalent to Stairway to Heaven. A song that will live forever with new fans finding it and falling in love with it for the first time. The structure and composition are perfect. This song has everything a great rock song must have. It leads you through a story of hurt and betrayal that pulls your heart right out of your chest. Simply a new classic.
For the Vinyl, at their official Band Maid Shop (NOT Band Maid Store - that sells clothes etc) they are between £34 and £43 each. While there do yourself a favour and get the Line Cube Shibuya live concert DVD/Blue-Ray - £41/£49. I would give you the link but You tube won't allow helping people out!
Puzzle is the best! I never get tired of listening to it...as a matter of fact I don't get tired of listening to any Band-Maid songs. WORLD DOMINATION!!
Miku's custom engraved Zippo lighter is going for $1k or so, on eBay. Btw, the full band live version of Puzzle has a sense of anger and despair. The acoustic version has a sadness and sorrow feel.
Craig, Puzzle is a rock masterpiece, but you should take the time to react to "Puzzle", the official acoustic version. You just might shed a tear or two. The acoustic version features only Kanami and Saiki. Saiki's voice (and Kanami"s as backup) is so emotional and heartrending.
@@CRAIGREACTS So don't wait man. Do it now. Ha!Ha! Like the rest of us...you will shed a tear reacting to the pain & anguish in Saiki's voice, as Bill pointed out. Truly a sensational piece of work. And the voice of Kanami is so pure.
@@CRAIGREACTS Awesome. I would've checked your playlist to see if you'd done "Moratorium" but so many channels don't update them that i didn't bother. Call me lazy but i call it saving calories.🤣
MISA!!! MISA!!! MISA!!! 🥃🥃🥃 this version with the heavy sound is my top 3 favorite Band-Maid song but their official Live acoustic version with Saiki and Kanami is a great listen too.
Puzzle and Secret My Lips are in my top, literally. It's hard to place a top ten with them, because your favorite is the last one you listened to. But for me, those two songs will always place top because they are simply masterpieces in writing, musicianship and lyric writing.
More peeks at an important, transformational group known as Band-Maid. Three things I think new fans will find fascinating with this group; 1) the deeper you dig, the more you'll appreciate the members authenticity, writing and musical sensibilities; 2) your favorite song will generally be the one you're currently listening to. Note: This is a distinctive phenomenon with Band-Maid. For example, listen to "Moratorium" and then “Puzzle. Which is your favorite?; and 3) why does it seem they have no bad songs? Band-Maid has plenty of bad songs, according to one of their interviews. It's just that they threw them all in the dumpster and only released 119 (to date) of their most awesome songs. This disciplined integrity is one of the things that keeps them at the top of the rock pile. Thx Craig!
As other's have mentioned, the live audio version is much better and it is also worth checking out the acoustic version. The one advantage of this video is that it includes the lyrics (albeit in Spanish). I hadn't realized that the song was about a woman who falls hard for a guy only to discover he already has a partner and decides to let him go. It occurs to me on watching this that though the lyrics may be the same in both versions of the song, Saiki's vocal delivery transmits very different emotions in the way she presents certain key phrases. In the full band version (particularly with the live audio), she comes across as very frustrated and angry. The way she sings the acoustic version sounds more resigned, sorrowful and heartbroken. The genius in the songwriting is that the same words (assuming the translation is correct) are equally apt for both sets of emotions and that the way Kanami plays the guitar in each version reinforces the emotions they are trying to convey.
I just went through your playlist & notice that you haven't reacted to "Rinne" yet. Something that will bang your brains out. You have two choices. The Live version & the MV version shot on Super8 film stock. Both are compulsory enjoyment. My suggestion would be to do both in the one reaction. There's not a soul on the planet that would complain about you doing that. In fact, I think you would be breaching some sort of cosmic law if you don't do that. Ha!Ha!
