Still one of my favourite Band-Maid songs. It established their vibe, their attitude - cool, irresistible, sophisticated. Love it ! And how young do they look here !
also it was a HUGE change coming from their debut album that wasnt this genre at all I loved it the first time I saw it, I wasnt expecting it as I already heard their first album and then my mind blew and became addicted to band maid as everyone here =D
Interesting fact. Thrill was ultimately the saving grace for the band as before they were close to disbanding. But they had Thrill written for them to try a more hard rock approach compared to their lighter rock sound at the time. This MV got them out there and thus leading them to becoming the rock maid goddesses we see and know today.
We were well, thrilled when they brought back this song for the L.A. show in November. It had been about a year and a half since they had played it. Saiki definitely seemed surprised (at least at first) at the loud call and response, and people singing along to all the songs. They mentioned in a recent interview that they could clearly hear the crowd shout "Hey!", even with their ear monitors in. Even though they didn't write the music for this one (Miku contributed to the lyrics), it still has that great BAND-MAID sound.
@daventx I got off pretty easy (just had to drive up from San Diego), but yeah, one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Even the VIP ticket was less than I've spent on general admission at other shows.
This is the 1st Band Maid song I heard, and I have been a hopelessly addicted Maidiac ever since. I like this song because it is cleaner and more direct, yet rocks hard. Saiki and Miku put in a great vocal too.
My understanding is that this is a video early on in their existence. This was before Misa and Saiki changed into their current outfits. I like the heavy pulsating drive of this song. I think it's also cool that Miku sang some verses and she had a strong voice, although I know that was probably production editing.
enigmaticmisfit Miku has a wonderful voice with no need for post production tricks. She can sing high as well as low, depending on the harmonies she and Saiki want to create.💪🏻🤘🏻
They wore the red uniforms back in 2013 - 2014. Miku redesigns them occasionally. I think their on the 3rd design now. The current design Akane no longer wears the hat.
This being their first MV was also my introduction to them because it was in related videos when I watched Babymetal... I remember I was blown away by this already even though this is a more "simple" song by them compared to others :D As for acoustic performances I suggest Puzzle & Anemone (you can find both in one video) and there's also one of Thrill which is really good ;)
Thanks for the nice reactions and comments every time. If you like, please also watch the music videos of "choose me" and "Bubble". You can enjoy the taste different from the live performance. Thank you !
JIMMY PAGE OF ( LED ZEPPELIN ) loves this band. He met the group back stage and asked if he could have his picture taken with the drummer( AKANE ) she thought it was a dream ( it was not ) a rock legend like that giving props to the girls, how awesome is that.Jimmy Page( LED ZEPPELIN) just after seeing the band play in Tokyo in 2016. He complimented Akane. Akane was star struck. She later said Mr Jimmy Page-san offered her much encouragement and she promised to do her best. The talent level is off the charts, These girls are flat out ROCK STARS. SHRED ON LADIES...
Hola Shadow John con este tema conocí a esta banda y desde ese momento me volaron la cabeza y se transformó en mi banda favorita , saludos de Argentina ✌
They've grown so much in such a short time! Talent can't stand still. I hope they can hold it all together, 'cause so much talent in close association...makes me think of a pressure cooker. They definitely NEED time away from the other band members--not long, though, please.
They still duet when singing older songs so miku hasn't completely stopped singing but for quality purposes she doesnt sing as much anymore since shes trying to get better at guitar (in a few interviews about their newer songs she explains it in similar words but she continues her maid accommodation thing addressing the masters and mistresses who attend their shows)
Wolfie Blackheart I agree with you....Miku did select Saiki to be the lead vocalist of the group....and they form a great duo when they sing....their voices complementing into a great sound!
always better to hear the recorded version first.. Anemone ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uh0JDdCgZcs.html Puzzle & Anemone acoustic ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aOixj8XE8Ew.html
This maybe the one you are referring to? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aOixj8XE8Ew.html There is also a half hour set of them all playing on a TV show (I think it was a TV show)
Actually, "Ka-nami" means "sound-wave." Or "song-wave." Kanji is 歌波, and Google tells me that 歌 means "song" or "poetry" (could be also read as "uta," song), and 波 of course means "wave," exactly like in "tsunami," which means "a wave inside a bay." I wonder if that's the name the parents gave her (in which case they were prophets), or it's just her pen-name...
