The thing that was leashing them, specifically, was COVID-19. Of course Japan took the lockdowns, business closures, and distancing very seriously, so for a couple years they couldn’t play live shows and even daily life was affected. Kanami in particular struggled with this and it’s said that the music she wrote for Unseen World (and probably the Unleash EP) got darker, heavier, and more frantic as a result. If you watch the MV for this one, the video is actually about them fighting back against COVID. LOL
Band-Maid has been unleashed for sometime now, this song is just the affirmation of that fact! The OMV for this song is a must, and has a lot of cool Easter eggs to notice!
