Bandit Valley - Yoshi's New Island OST 

Let me just say, this is my personal favorite rendition of the main theme.

This is probably the best song in the game.

They made the right choice going with this song for Super Smash Bros. Wii U and not one of the songs plagued with ear-bleeding kazoos.

This is how you reuse a melody without it becoming repetitive and "samey"!!! It's the same melody, and pretty much the same structure as the main theme...but it feels very different as well! It's a very good track.

Really sets the feeling of sunset.

I have a feeling Bandit Valley could work as a Mario Kart track, with Bandits serving as obstacles that get in your way similarly to Moo Moos, except much faster and more unpredictable and the setting taking place in the woods similarly to the one in this game.

This would make good credits music... you know, reusing a motif in a legitimately beautiful way, but slowing it down because you're not in the middle of actually PLAYING A PLATFORMER and you want to pull in the nostalgia.

This is legitimately the best soundtrack in the game

I don't understand why people despise the leitmotif between all of the level themes, it's exactly what Super Mario World did and that game's OST is loved greatly. I know SMW went further into differentiating each version, but people act like the leitmotif itself is the problem when really it's the lack of differentiation in the OST as a whole, with not much effort being put in to truly make each variant unique other than instrumentation and other tweaks that are too minor to get the job done. This track is a wonderful example of how to make it different enough to be more than acceptable, great even. It's one of my favorites for that and simply sounding good in general. I do wish every track got this level of care, though this isn't to say there isn't any other good track. Despite what the consensus would like one to believe, there's many tracks that sound fantastic, even some with the kazoos. Boiling it down to kazoos and leitmotif bad sounds more like hating to hate or simply a poor attempt at getting one's thoughts across, as the real problem here is neither, but the lack of effort put in to make both work. Again, SMW is a prime example of making this work. Other games like Undertale/Deltarune are also s great example of how leitmotifs and can be used wonderfully. Yes, kazoos sound stupid and/or childish, but that's the point. Complaining about the kazoos sounding bad doesn't really do anything to solve the problem because you're just pointing out the obvious and intentional choice of instrument. I take amusement out of the kazoos personally, because that's the point. They're not there to slander the legacy of the Yoshi's Island series, it's just a different take that fits well imo. The moral of the story is Yoshi.

Coming here after Yoshi's Crafted World released, and honestly, I still don't hate this soundtrack. Sure, the tracks with heavy usage of kazoos are awful, but the remixes here are definitely varied and still give off different vibes.
