Hey Stephen. Man, that saw sure cuts square. It pays to buy quality tools.👍 Cutting flat looks better, But it is for your shop. Oh yea, you're a perfectionist. 😊 Just teasing you Stephen. I was a machinist making fiber optic components, so I am a perfectionist as well. That roller table turned out top-shelf Stephen. Now you need a table on the other side to pile you pieces that you cut off instead of placing them on the floor. Thanks for sharing. See you next time.🍁👍👍
I picked up my LT!/L83 with 6L80E this week. I"ve also been working on mocking up the front suspension. I put together the driver side control arms, spindle and hub and hung a tire on it. I mocked up the grill shell and front fender. I"m happy with the placement of the suspension. The tire is pretty centered in the wheel opening. My only concern at this moment is the crossmember. FATMAN tells you to tack the high side and then move the crossmember to level it front to back. When I did, I ended up with almost a quarter inch gap on one side. I'm probably going to scribe it, cut the tacks and trim it to fit better. I don't think it will have an impact on the suspension. I wish I had your welding skills. MIG is totally new to me. I learned stick back in the 70's and hadn't used it much in the last almost 40 years. 29 this morning at 6:00 going to 47 and 57 by Tuesday. Love the Black Hills. We'll be in the teens by next weekend. Still no major snow, more bare ground showing than snow covered.
Very nice work Steven, learned a ton of trick's on this video, liked the wheel you used for grinding mill scale that way i won't go through my flap wheels, and the sharpie trick with the scriber that was cool, and lastly i like the flange nuts, i think that will help from galling the threads especially on SS, thanks for sharing
Cut it on the flat. Always strive to cut however you can keep the largest number of teeth in contact with the surface. It gives you a better edge and it is much easier on the blade. It has less of a tendency to break off a tooth
Thanks for the kind words Ramiro, I got that loop from art Morrison Enterprises located in Washington it’s inch and three-quarter 120 wall tubing and it wasn’t very expensive at all all the other ones that I found were too small of diameter, the inch and three-quarter works perfectly on 2 x 4 or 2 x 6 crossmember material
