The difference between a pop singer and a rock singer. Stray Kids my favourite K-Pop group and Xdinary Heroes my favourite K-Rock band. Imagine a double-header tour with both of them on the bill, I'd lose my freakin' mind. Jooyeon is one of the most exciting voices to come out of the South Korean music scene as far as I'm concerned. I love that he has no fear and just goes for it.
yeah that's right. i also like that despite being so many years in the industry and being a great producer bangchan shows appreciation for debuting rock stars. xdinary heroes are amazing, their skills are smashing. everyone there has amazing voices and as for jooyeon i totally agree. his amazingly high voice combined with his unconventional look, makes him strongly memorable as an artist. i think they will be someone great in the future and can be a forerunner when it comes to b-bands in kpop. 🤩😍
@@bee140 totally agree. I've been both a pro dancer, and been in bands songwriting. I think this is why I appreciate both in different ways, but I could imagine Xdinary Heroes opening the set, then Stray Kids doing theirs, then the two collaborating in a 3rd. I'D BE THERE WITH BELLS ON!!!
i dont think theyd have the skills to hit it effectively without straining or damaging their voice as of now@@mugglepuff Jooyeon and Jungsu r super talented to go that high without having their voices sound strained or having it too stratchy which would make it sound annoying to listen to
Chan walking off camera to try to sing the chorus is such a mood 😭😭😭 The amount of breath support needed to reach those notes is insane! Not to mention having the actual range for it 😅 Edit: 5:45 The abrupt switch to falsetto was too real 😂😂😂
I love how pure Chan's reaction to his juniors is. He really is the sweetest human being. I hope for a collab on this song like with Jisung and Seungmin. OMG that would be absolute heaven. I love being a Stay Villian
Caytlin Benson called this one of the songs that songwriters only write a few times in their lives. It's perfect in every way from message to vocals to performance. Jooyeon's 'rock' voice brings power to the group that others don't have, plus Jungsu was meant to be an idol-idol not band-idol but he completes the round up as Jooyeon is just so powerful they needed a counterbalance. Edit: she also said nobody is covering the song because the notes are just too high and hard to maintain. Edit 2 - corrected misinformation about Jooyeon's vocals. (See comment in replies from Tangled Angle).
Opera voice???? Where does it say anywhere that Jooyeon is opera trained? He has a rock voice, rock voices break rules, opera voices live by them. Very different technical skills and approach required.
@@Mrs.Fezziwig That clip of him in After School Club is him having a go at an Operatic interpretation 'for fun'. They ask him if he did opera and he said 'no' but that he liked it. He's just fooling around. He is not opera trained. There is a big difference. While there may be some similarities in breath control techniques, one difference is that opera singers are focussed on resonance. They need to develop their sound to get 'over' orchestras . I suggest you google the differences if you're interested.
I prefer their live performances of this song. The lead adds a bit more vibrato to the chorus and drops the the last words of each sentence in his throat a bit more. Such a talented singer. Can't believe I just discovered Xdinary today.
okay so what was that Spanish song that he used to sing and it’s like? it’s like a Stay anthem basically at this point lol but I forgot it I used to listen to it a lot but then I remembered him singing it and now I can’t remember the name of it.
His head voice is so insanely powerful. He hits true falsetto and yet belts alto too as well as his lower tones. Such a stunning voice . Training and hard work plus a versatile voice box is the only explanation. So well done. ❤
I honestly was so shocked hearing chan at first, he really got close (if he didnt) to hitting the high notes. his belting sounds soooo good i wish we got to hear it more
