I think the reason that you're finding it easiest to get big combo scores with manual flat ground tricks is because you're not making use of the revert, which allows you to continue your combo after landing out of a quarter/half pipe. You can revert+Ollie and then land in a manual, or just revert+manual.
Yeah you arent wrong. You can do a lot with the air/flip/grab tricks too you just have to spin and revert and all that too. I guess i just felt the manual was easier because i didnt have to flip and make sure i landed facing the right direction.
Saw this video in my recommended and I watched because I love the game. I got so pumped when the intro came on brother. Awesome review and looking forward to more!
Personally this is my favorite THPS game The one thing I don't like about it are the driving missions and they would only add more non skateboarding gameplay like that in later games
Its my favorite too! The story and skate company stuff was way better than i would have expected from what is essentially a sports game. Add in the trick creator, and track maker and youve pretty much gotten the full package!
Tony Hawk's Underground is the best THPS and, by extension, one of the best games ever made. At least with THUG1, the driving aspects were mostly optional and not entirely baked into the story. There are times when missions ask you to drive, but mostly after that, you can entirely disregard the driving. If anything, they just added the driving as fluff.
Great video my dude, as a kid I spent a lot of time nailing lip transitions to maximise combos, but adult me preferred trying to maximise the combo variety for ultimate dopamine release. I also think the THUG level maker was one of the greatest level makers of all time, I logged far too many hours, long into the night finding ways to break it. Still playing THUG 1,2 & PRO to this day, since release, 10/10 games!
Thanks! Yeah it is super easy to reuse the same tricks over and over for points, but its much more fun changing up lines and doing a million different ones! And yeah thug was one of the few games as a little kid i actually made it all the way to the end of 😂 still have great memories, and holds up to this day!
I love the tonyhawk underground 1 ,the American wasteland, the project 8, the proving ground, the downhill jam,the ride and the tony hawk pro Skater 1 & 2 remaster!
I love most of the early. Tony Hawks My favorite was always Tony hawk underground 2 but That could be just because I played it the most. I would love a Tony hawk underground 3
If theres any skateboarding game we need rn its 100% the tony hawks underground series followed closely by skate 4… Did someone just say open world? 👀 lol
@@Warrandpeace a new Tony hawk game with create a skate park, a custom games browser like Halo to be able to join anybody's skate parks that they've made and hopefully it being underground 3 with the world destruction tour chapter 2 and bigger skating maps like you said open world-esque
@@ki11atj49 exactly! And imagine you can create your own skate brands with other irl people and make video parts with all the members and enter them into tournaments vs other brands! This is a million dollar idea my friend!
@@Warrandpeace fr I mean we didn’t need the 1 and 2 remake thug 1 and American wasteland are classics I’d take those 2 over any other tony hawk game out here
yo, watching this bought me back years man, i have so many hrs on this as a kid, cyberpunk 2077 is my favourite game rn, but this is my favourite game of all time
