If you have a specific budget for a future video, let me know cuz I'm gonna do another one of these for lower priced apartments. You tell me the budget and I'll scour this city to find a few examples. Maybe $500/month??

Nice video but for a city of millions of properties you've chosen very expensive only. Try cutting that rate in half or less to cater to a lot more people on your channel, 2k USD is a LOT of money for an apartment in BKK. 5000 USD would house many middle income Thais for YEARS. I know people who live there in perfectly decent apartments for a few hundred dollars, please reveal this because THAT would be useful

@peter1949
@peter1949 4 года назад
As your RU-vid channel name suggests the word "retire" would be a hint of what demographic you're aiming at. I doubt if many retirees want to spend $2,500 and upwards on a place in Bangkok to live. $2,500.00 is more than my current mortgage payment and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area!!!! There are many nice places available in Bangkok for between 12,000 and 20,000 baht. That should be your focus.

When you hear brokers fee is paid by the landlord, run as fast as you can because they always jack up the price. All the landlord gotta do is just raise the rent few hundred dollars a month it will be plenty to pay the broker but you will be stuck with the overinflated rent.

I have read in a Thai newspaper, that since covid19 the demand for condos under 20.000 Baht has increased by over 20% in Bangkok. And what does Chris do? You introduce condos in a price range from 77.000 and 85.000 to 170.000 Baht. How many people of your viewers can afford that, 0,00001 % ? Who should move in there? Donald Trump, Rockefeller, the Rothschild family or Warren Buffett? Lol. You are a really funny guy. I love your videos. By the way, what do you pay for your condo in Bangkok? Wow how many people move to Bangkok looking for a condo with 3 bedrooms and 2,000+ square feet renting at over $2700 US dollars a month? I suspect that niche is pretty small. I appreciate seeing nice properties, but maybe you could show some more modest sized condos with just 1 bedroom, renting for under $1000 a month? There are thousands and thousands in that niche... I've stayed in some in Thonglor, Ari, and even more affordable if you are willing to be a bit closer to the perimeter of the city but still near the BTS.

more common than you think. There's this common narrative that either "digital nomads"/English teachers and single retired men are the only ones moving here. Which is pretty much all you see on these RU-vid channels. That couldn't be further from the truth. Since you lived here you know Bangkok is an international city with multinational corporations from around the world. Comparable to London, Berlin, or Tokyo. Plenty of people move here for work with families.

Apartment or condos that cost more then most retirees get each month? As another have mentioned, you get nice apartments or condos from 12 000 to 25 000 Bath a month. From around 18 000-25 000 you even get a 2 bedroom condo/apartment. And everyone has good standard, but not luxurious. Maid salary start at abut 9 600 Bath a month which is minimum wage by the law for a full time job. 15 000 Bath as you say, just plain ridiculous high salary if she don't buy my food for her own money, cook like my mum or a Michelin chef and clean like my mum. And you don't need to go trough an agent in renting a condo or hiring a maid. It only rises the price, but not the quality for most people. And there is a ton of websites advertising vacant condos, apartments, townhouses and villas for rent.

How long of the lease? Are there any deposit? Can we rent just a month or two?

I live in Toronto which is one of the most expensive cities and these prices are still not much different. I hope they are not jacking up the prices for foreigners lol

If we are retirees from another country , are we allowed to rent long term in the Bangkok area? Could you tell us retirees if its a long drawn out process with immigration to stay long term in Thailand? sure would appreciate any information from those of you viewers that have been there long in thailand but are not citizens or working in Thailand.

Would love to see 2 bedroom units in Riverside area for under 50K baht. Thanks much!

Interesting. Next up I plan to do the cheaper side of things, like under 20K/month. Then after that i'll tackle mid-range (50K/month) and will try to find riverside for ya.

These prices are crazy! Please show some around $1200 or less, is that possible?

She said you need a work visa to apply... that’s not accurate. You can have any kind of visa and can still rent... experience may vary!

I see your channel has turned into the lifestyles of the rich and famous, I see. Who do you know that would or can spend 170,000 per month for rent. You could rent a 3 bedroom pool villa for less. You could buy a 112 sqm 3 bedrooms 2 bath with a price of 5900000 in 60 months for less than 100000 per month.

Very interesting BUT 99% of retirees cannot afford these more for rich kids with bills being paid by wealthy parents . 15k-20k more realistic but as always a great video 👍🏽

i don't see the point nor the value. for $3-6k, I'll stay in new york. price per sqm seems to go up significantly as you go larger. doesn't make any sense.
