Yesterday we travel from Bangkok to Koh Tao by bus and ferry. The entire over land journey between Bangkok and Koh Tao took about 15 hours. We got on the bus in Bangkok around 6 p.m. and we arrived on the island of Koh Tao around 10 a.m. the next morning.
The entire journey cost us around $20 each... If you're looking for the cheapest way to get between Bangkok and Koh Tao, this is probably you best option. However, if you value you time, I would highly recommend flying from Bangkok and then taking the ferry to Koh Tao.
Our journey included several random stops, including a random bus station in the middle of the night, getting dropped off in the middle road, and arriving at the ferry pier at 4 a.m.. It was definitely one of our hardest travel days.

I'm so happy you guys filmed your trip from Bangkok to Koh Tao! I was really inspired by your videos and Christian Leblanc Thailand E-guide that I booked our whole Thailand trip this Christmas based off of your guys recommendations! This is our 1st time out of the country! We're staying at Sairee Cottage Resort and booked our Padi Cert. with the cottage as well. We're so excited!! I've been following your adventures for a few months now and I just wanted to say that you guys are the best! You are both so down to earth, and seeing the teamwork you put towards your vlogs admist the wonder of exploring places hardly known, and absorbing a days worth or more of adventure just to compress a unity feeling within a days upload; has been fun to watch. Really, I think we all see a lot of heart into what you guys have been doing. This gave me intense flashbacks to my trip to Thailand when we took an "overnight" bus from Bangkok to Koh Tao and we spent four hours at the pier waiting for the ferry. It was exhausting, frustrating but so much fun. Thanks for the reminder! Love the channel!

I did the same trip a few years back. Thankfully I was able to sleep most of the time and that's why I arrived decently rested in Koh Tao. I had MUCH worse night travel trips... traveling on a budget is a joy ;)

I went travelling in Asia in 2004. Imagine being dropped off in the middle of nowhere in the early hours with no phone or idea what is going on. All part of the fun tho. Had a blast in Thailand

That is a heck of a journey! We thought we got on the wrong ferry when we did it. We thought we would be stranded. We made it and loved the islands of Koh Tap and Koh Phangan. Happy travels!

I did 2 night busses in Thailand but they had coffin type bunk beds, I'm 183 and was too tall for them

Just found your videos guys, lost a day!!! Great content, done this same trip except i took the train, then all islands, Phangnan and Samui, ferry to Surat Thani then over to Krabi and the south Islands. koh Tao was my favourite, Stayed in the same place too!! Although the Islands around Phi Phi were exceptional and the snorkelling was amazing, have you guys been down there?

That reminds me that when i was in Thailand we stayed in a hotel in Phuket and we was at the airport at 6 am in the morning and came to the hotel at 7 am and we weren’t able to check in until 3 pm so a lot of waiting, plus an 13 hour flight😂😅

Lomprayah are not expensive , and includes ferry tickets and no hassle, wouldn't use anyone else lol
