Channel cats come up to feed. We used to set cane poles in the creek with a fiddle worm anywhere from 4 inches below the surface to almost out if the water. Worked real good. An old man showed me that when I was a boy. Alabama is my home as well. Great video
Might want to check into getting some black saltys. Bigger bait fish you can buy at some bait shops around. You have to find bait shops that sell them. Or try attracting the stripers w/frozen anchovies.
