@@pampoovey3281 at this point it doesn't really matter. It might as well be a group of people going around under Banksy's "orders" to spray those images. Maybe he anonymously tips the media... no one came out to refute this claim anyway. I don't really know much about Banksy, although I have been seeing his art over the years (and really like it), but this particular series of artworks doesn't look that thought provoking, political or very special from an art point of view, fairly boring imho. Maybe he is trying to prove the point that a well established brand name can stop trying too hard in order to be successful.... 🤷 - also kind of makes me thing of the movie 12 Monkies.
London has one of the most advanced CCTV systems in the world. They 100% know or could discover who Banksy is. He’s like a national hero to them so they’re protecting him for sure.
Don't be naive. He has a multimillion dollar business and his lawyers and other people know who he is. His pieces are worth a lot because it has been agreed on by the moneybags. It's about some clever ways with money, like all current "art" that looks like trash because it is.
That's the question, but his being celebrated does break a ceiling that could allow more tolerance to artists. Depending on the city, there are murals that are accepted and some that are not. The city and building owners decide.
1:37 is exactly why. Politically charged and it raises a certain level of awareness during these hard times for people with little recognition. The West is very blind from simple acts of kindness. His art transcended when people took notice and took the meaning for a greater purpose. Don’t overthink it it’s not hard

@@bobbymoss6160 How many of them are internationally renowned and sell work at auction for millions? He uses stencils, that's not graffiti, just because he uses spray paint does not mean what he does is graffiti.
@@saki1206 It’s true, I don’t understand. He goes out onto the street, sprays the stencils, and is gone in just a few minutes. I just don’t get how that’s valued as art. Other artists spend years on their paintings, yet their work doesn’t fetch the same prices as Banksy’s. I really don’t understand it.
@@genki2705 You should look into it more. His work is well thought out with sometimes complex messages presented in a clever and a lot of times funny way. He is against the absurdity of the art world and it's focus on money which is why he makes free art for the community. The community for the most part loves him for this. We feel like we all own his public art when it isn't defaced or stollen. He uses stencils so that he can put it up quickly and get out. He is still the one designing and creating the stencils. He is a skilled artist but it's not really about his skill level but more the thought behind the pieces. A lot of times he uses the building or surroundings of the painting in a double meaning. Check out his piece "Love is in the Bin" which was a genius prank on the art world. If you like docs watch Exit Through the Gift Shop. Banksy made it and it demonstrates just how crazy the art world is. Like all of his work, it has twists and turns and layers of meaning and is so clever and funny.
Fun Fact...🙄 Those 'robbers' were actually employees of a Pinewood Studios-based fit-out & event installations company called Speed Events Ltd who presumably are contracted by Banksy to do all the on-site art installation work. One of the pretend 'thieves' made a bit of an error by wearing his Speed Events company logo'd workwear t-shirt during the 'theft' that was all carefully caught on camera...without subsequent prosecution by the police...🥴😟🙄🤔😉
It's great when people think that they understand impressionistic art. I mean, so many people. The comment section are so sure they know exactly what this means. You have no clue what your own life means led alone with these pictures mean.
Look I don’t care how famous this street artist is if he paints on private property without permission then the owner of that property has every right to cover it up
The problem is not the property owner having to cover it up. The problem is the cost for the property owner or the city of having to protect the home or the business from curious visitors, looters or defacers that Banksy isn’t helping them pay for. Even when the piece is removed, people will keep coming just to get a glimpse of “the spot” where it is or was. Crowds are a liability for the property owner.
The guy says, "It sort of makes you think." Really? Sort of? That's what his stuff is ALL about. The f'd up human condition. Our ignorance, our greed, our destruction and all of the INNOCENT BYSTANDERS like children and animals in our wake. This one, I think, is about animals taking back THEIR territory. THEIR world. I have great respect for this artist. It's not vandalism. It seems to me, to be a cry of desperation from a man who feels helpless among his species. These are my humble opinions. It also makes sense that the gorillas would be the animals to realize the threat and help all of the others in captive escape, as they would best understand how to do so in the limited time they would have. Elephants being in a second floor window is a bit implausible though.
I love how he was a criminal until the communities showed love for him. Then the art world elites decided he was worthy to monetize and sell his free art for millions. Shame so many talented graffiti artist are seen as vandals and don't get the same chance.

I like Bansky but he's Mid at best and he uses stencils and wheat paste 😂 Also, they know who he is. You can't even relieve yourself in an emergency in public in London without getting a ticket the next day because of CCTV
Banksy is an industry plant and copied Blek le rat’s style. The way he’s protected I wouldn’t be surprised to find out he’s a member of the royal family.
@@presidentcamacho And all the hordes of graffiti 'artists' following him and imitating him are not at all talented as he admittedly is; therefore, they trash buildings, train cars, and public spaces. It's all visually irritating and not elevating in some way as true art is. Vandalism indeed!
His message is… release the animals into London, they will behave better than the people inside it. The common English phrase of: “Your acting like an animal” Basically our country is a mess.
